I've just ordered some of this on the back of what people have been saying about it. What do people think of sticking some FK1000p over the top? I'm a little worried the carnauba layer will make it a no no and I really can't be bothered to keep re-claying/polishing every month or so. Could just use up my natty blue paste wax I suppose.

Putting something on top of it is fine.

I did a full coat in AF Tripple. Only managed 1 layer though as got a bit sick after meticulously cleaning everywhere else. Really need to break my cleans up into separate days.

Polish looked great though, in the sun it made the blue come out quite bright.

Have they finished the Promenade area down the hill from there? Would be a nice place to take shots too :).

Did a bit of a spring detail. Only had half a day. Will need a proper detail in the summer.

Dodo Juice Sour Power
Farcela G3 Clay Mitt

Hi

Noob advice required. Good friend of mine has a rather nice 2010 Jag XKR convertible. He is however quite lazy and takes it to the local hand carwash place regularly. He's had it a year and its not seen any polish or wax in that time.

I've been telling him for ages he should get some better cleaning products. So its his birthday and thought I would get him at least some polish and wax/sealant. So can I get anything decent for upto £40 ? Recommendations please...

Thanks

Polish: Auto Finesse Tripple
Wax/Sealant: Collinite 476s/FinishKare 1000P

Tripple will remove light swirls and mask the heavy ones. The wax/sealant will protect the paint. Take your pick from the wax/sealant, both are equally as good :)

Excellent.. thanks for the quick response..

Cleaned the car last night and used meguiars liquid wax. It's a amazing spray wax but after one or two washes it starts to wear off. It's slightly more slick then aqua wax.

I use AG HD Wax at the minute and have some Extra Gloss Protection. Is it worth putting that over the Wax or not? I thought I'd read that putting a sealant over a wax will strip it (may be wrong).

Loving the look of that Sonax BSD - do people spray it onto the car after drying or before?

I use quick wax or spray detailer during drying, I find it not only prevents water spots but also helps the towel/cloth absorb the water leaving a clean, dry streak free finish.

Want to try Sonax BSD yet. Going to check halfords but if they don't have it get it off cleanyourcar.co.uk.
