Total noob here, what products would you guys recommend for keeping a brand new car in decent nick? im not ocd and don't want to be using polishing machines etc. I plan to wash it at home by hand with a bucket, What do i need other than a shampoo? how ofter do you need to wax or polish it etc? i really have no idea about any of this i used to think the eastern europeans did a good job for £2.50 but as ive just got a new car id like to take care of it better.

How often do people use clay? Like the idea of one of the mitts as they look very easy but wondering if a 6 month old car would benefit from me claying it?

This might seem lazy not going through the thread but...

Got the week off next week, plan to give my car some much needed love. A full wash/clay/polish/seal/wax job, it's been far to long and it desperately needs it.

I've got a couple of light scratches on the paintwork that I'm hoping I can improve or even better, get rid of, so looking for a decent polish. What's the best to use that is harsh enough to have a go at scratches, but something I can use across the whole car as well? I've always used Autoglym SRP before but obviously that is about as abrasive as mayo :p

As iv seen halfrauds have 3 for 2 on iv decided the car is getting a nice clean and tlc today/tmoz..

Any changes anyone would make to my product choice?
Turtle Wax Refine & Shine Clay Bar Kit
Turtle Wax Color Magic 'Plus' Car Wax Polish- Silver 500ml
Autoglym Aqua Car Wax 500ml

For 31 pounds.. Ill need some cloths/towels also though so recommendations?

Wax etc will help hide the appearance of swirls etc but won't truly remove them from the paint. You need something abrasive to do that like a polishing compound. Tbh if the car is really bad and you don't already have the professional tools (rotary etc) for the job then I'd rather pay a detailer to do the work. :)
