30l, you washing an HGV?

Anyhow, a bucket is a bucket, what could possibly make one particularly suited to washing? Aside from a grit guard but this obviously doesn't have one.

Dammit, you made me do the same!!! Have had my eye on the set for a while as the MV2's are a pain to properly clean, hopefully these should make life much easier :)

My Team Dynamics are a pain aswell, especially the fronts where there is pretty much no space between the wheel and the brake disc it's hard to get a good clean, the Woolies seem to cater for pretty much every situation!

Cleaned my car and mum's UP.

I do like the little Up, only seen a handful on the road but they always catch my eye, would be great if they did a hot version to like the old Twingo 133 :)

I think they did? Or at least a concept at one of the big shows. VW UP GTi or something like that. Pretty sure someone posted it on here.

The UP is a nice car but only thing that annoys me is there is nothing protecting the wheel arches...so when it rains/standing water you can hear it, same goes for stones on the road etc.

You may aswell just buy a wet vac, it's one of those things where you should just own one because chances are you'll need it again and if you look after it, won't break.

Hi all,

I recently purchased what I would consider my first "nice" car and I am really keen to take care of it, could use some advice.

I had some time over the bank holiday weekend to begin cleaning up the interior - I had purchased privately and other than a vacuum the previous owner had not done much to it.

As such the leather needed a clean and the plastics/dash a bit of a refresh.

I purchased a few products and tried them out, some turned out great - others went straight in the bin.

Armorall leather wipes went in the bin. I initally liked them - the fact they are wipes and not a spray was handy. Unfortunately they left oily marks on my black leather, which then had to be cleaned off by a separate product.

Additionally - and this is probably my fault - the wipes rubbed dye of my steering wheel leather. (I now know should have tested it first). What options do I have here for restoring the steering wheel? Hopefully not a new steering wheel...

I forgot to take a picture of the wheel, can supply if necessary.

I know I have probably made a rookie error here, so I would appreciate constructive advice on this.

Autoglym Leather shampoo worked out much better - bit more effort required, but a much better result. Just a finisher/oil/protectant for the leather now - Autoglym make a "Leather care balm" - any other recommendations?

I used Armorall Semi-gloss interior shield for the plastics, trim and dash. Worked superbly, the plastics were looked a bit tired and it worked perfectly...everything on the dash/console area appears new! Would recommend this product.

Thanks

Matt

Wow 279 pages for car cleaning! Is everone a geek:-) ? says me who spent a whole day cleaning and waxing.
Gliptone is good/effective and leaves a leatherique smell, I use occassionally.
Armourall wipes is no good. autoglym leather is OK.
Autoglym resin polish is a product I never touch has powder to polish and wax mixed in.

I use different products depending on what I fancy at the time.
Aerospace 303 is the best rubber product I have used.

Yesterday, Used Autoglym rubber and plastic which is OK and Simoniz leatherique which is ok but a bit light but fine for a quick job and fairly neutral smelling.
Used meguires was for wheel, this is not a v good product, not v glossy/shiny.
A Meguires detergent with warm water, and rinse with deionised water.
Waxed with Zymol Glasur and finished with Zymol spray.

im not about to buy a carpet cleaner just to clean a car seat. was hoping for something out of a bottle. might stretch to some shake n vac :D

I have lots of 'car carpet shampoo'....tried fairy liquid/detergent and water, and found it most effective for me! Also tried a mix of alcohol detergent wich is also effective.
