Depending on how steady your hand is and how risky you feel, you could scratch away at it with a flat razor being careful not to cut the paint below it, then polish the area out afterwards. I did this on mine when we got some drops on it. Worse that can happen is you'll have to get it resprayed anyway :p

Generally if clay and polishing isn't fixing it, the next level would be very high grit wet sanding and then machine down again - I have done this for deeper scratches but not for something like that.

As shauncr91 says - give it a go on a small patch, they've offered to respray anyway so even if you screw it up no harm done!

You could try and wet sand it. Something like 3000 grit sand paper. This will probably remove it. Then polish it up to a shine. Like you and others have said, they have offered to respray anyway so even if you screw it up there is no harm done.

right then ducks.

this autobrite perfromance paste wax stuff is utter garbage and has left my paint looking atrocious.

normally I use collonite as its hardwearing but I would like a glossier wax for the summer.

suggestions welcome.

I seem to have something green growing on the window seals Anyone know what to put on it to kill it/clean it off?

Depends what it is, pictures would help. Taking a guess though if the car hasn't been cleaned in a while you can get green moss/algae forming. If that is all it is, when I cleaned my Aunts car I cleaned it off with G101 (any APC should work though) and a cheap toothbrush as I found a detailing brush bristles weren't stiff enough.

Is your car Silver/grey? I use Zaino Z2, which is a sealant but does the same job, great on lighter colours. Although it basically is the same as Werkstaat kit mentioned above.

Victoria has always looked super glossy in review pics, I've been damned impressed with Dodo Juice Supernatural Hybrid on metallic paint - hugely cheap at £25 for 100ml too.

I actually deep cleaned my car today, phone died after these first photos but hopefully you get the idea.

Spent hours on the car, deep cleaning and removing mildew from the hood took me ages, gliptone leather cleaner and conditioner, every Meguiar's product under the sun including a good g220 session, pretty much the entire interior back to blacked with a product I can't remember the name of but was stupidly expensive given the small amount you get!

oh and had my wheels refurbed too, very happy :)

Hi.

I need to clean my car. It was new however a little unloved with recent weather and has a lot of debret and animals stuck to the front bumper. What's the best way of going about this.

In an ideal world I'd get a snow foam however don't have the ability for this. Would the demon foam shine be any use or should I just go to a garage and give it a pressure wash first?

I then intend to wash with the two bucket method. Should I then clay? Thinking the g3 clay pad. Do I then need to polish? I will look to use the autogym aqua wax after.

The main thing is to find the best way to get rid of the stuck on items, the rest of the car should be ok.

Also, what product should I get for the wheels as already the brake dust appears to be sticking to the wheels. I had a autogym product and didn't appear to help. It was an old bottle though.

Thanks

A citrus based cleaner will soften the muck and bugs first, and then a pressure wash should remove it. Something like this sprayed on and left for 5 minutes, then pressure washed off will remove most bugs and dirt.

Claying would be a good idea if there there is no wax/sealant already on it. The G3 clay pad is very good. Yeah, if you want to get the best shine, polish would be the next step. Something like AutoGlym Super Resin Polish or AutoFinesse Tripple will do the job well. The seal it, like you said, with Aqua Wax.

The main thing is to find the best way to get rid of the stuck on items, the rest of the car should be ok.

To remove the brake dust, something like Bilberry Wheel Cleaner (Angelwax or Valet Pro. Take your pick, they both work equally as well). To prevent it sticking as much (you will never stop some sticking), use a wheel sealant like Poorboys Wheel Sealant or for a bit more, Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour.

Thanks

Hi Greg,
Thanks for the reply.
All looks good, except the prewash item. It appears you need a pressure washer for it which I unfortunately don't have, I would need to go to the local garage to get access to a pressure washer.

The reason I mentioned the demon shine is that you can connect it to a standard hose.

The car has not been waxed, the g3 looks good as you can use standard shampoo as a lubricant? Is it true you should clay a window first to bed it in?

Is polish still advisable if only done by hand?

Thanks

You don't need a pressure washer for it really. I don't have one, so I just use a hose. I dilute it with hot water, spray it on with a spray bottle, leave it to dwell for 5 minutes, and rinse it off with the pressure nozzle on the hose.

Yes, you can use standard shampoo as lubricant. That is how I use mine. I squirt a small bit of Farecla G3 Body Prep Shampoo into a bucket, and then add warm water and leave the mitt to soak for about 5 minutes. I would use it on the windows first, until it has softened up a bit, and then you can use it on the paint.

Certain polishes are fine by hand, like Super Resin Polish and Tripple, as they are just wipe on, rub in, leave to haze and then wipe off. That's how I apply Super Resin Polish to mine and it always comes up looking great. Others like Meguiars #105 are best used with a polishing machine.

Hope that helps :)
