The Cryptolambo had gone to the moon... Time for Cryptolambo 2!!!

From memory its was every 5,000 miles on my bosses AV and came in at £5,300 each time.

The only way he could be burning up clutches like that is if the TCM is misconfigured or hes doing stupid amounts of launches.

My car is on 12500 miles and the clutch reading today was 1.7mm worn out of 7mm when it needs replacement. I know many owners who are on the first clutch at 50-60k+ miles on the car.

Hopefully for @kindai Lambo are better than the Ferrari dealer I had a pre-purchase inspection done at. They flagged 2x oil leaks and a £2k quote to repair, specialist post-purchase inspection showed everything was bone dry so Ferrari had quoted me for work that wasn't required.

They railed off a list of "issues" they found, including my custom exhaust, which they suggest replacing with a stock exhaust system at a cost of 17k lol.

There were other minor bits as well that need sorting but all of its covered under warranty so the parts are ordered.

Over £2k seems like madness for an oil/filter. I know you have got to "pay to play" but it seems a tad.......excessive.

Yep, the car is out of extended warranty early next year, so wanted to make use of it before that ends hence the main dealer service... before it does expire I will book it in for a full VHC and make use of it right before to catch any bits.

From this service, it also picked up around 3.5k of work needed that can all be under warranty.

Next year will likely have Litchos handle the service.

I would hope so. But then that lends the question, why make a big song and dance about it in here? Omg, everyone, guess how much a service is. If you already knew, as you eluded to, why are you expecting us to guess? Is it to prove something?

If you check my GTR thread, and Gallardo thread you'll see I posted up the full running and maintenance costs there also, which, a lot of people either find interesting or helpful to know if they want to make that step from a real world owner, rather than the usual tripe you read online of "if you cant buy two you cant afford one" type posters.

Hey all!

So went to Donington today with @Gibbo and a bunch of the GTR boys for a private day. And wow, what a day.

Lets start with the conditions.

If you disrespected the track today at all it spat you out hard. The snow last night with no rain and with it staying cold and wet all day meant it was like driving on ice as all the oil and aviation fuel was just sat on the track all day. I have helpfully renamed the corners to give you an idea:

Of particular note was esses, hairpin and goddards. These were absolutely terrifying, Goddards managed to roll a mini and eat a seat.

The backend completely lost it a few times, fortunately the worst was down mcleans as I tried to trail-brake in and it just went "nope, not today". Spun me around and ended up pointing in the right direction so carried on.

Despite that, we only had those 2 red flags, and I managed to hammer out a good 50+ laps, most of which were 5-6 people out, it was so low grip people just didnt want to drive it, which was great for those maniacs who did.

Gibbo got a couple of vids of my flybys, and theres some in car footage of mine to come, including where I cooked the brake fluid off and lost all brakes. So had to engine brake to make it back into the pits, that was a scary moment when youre traveling 100+mph down the back straight, in tragic conditions and manage to lose any ability to stop.

Many more pics and vids to come, including moments like this:

Hi all,

On the track day just gone I lost the valved abilities of the exhaust. Suspected it was doing to be the vac hoses.

Sticking my arm up the exhaust surround like a farmer up the arse of a cow and much to the amusement of my neighbors I gave the vac hoses a gentle tug...

Ooops.

Today is a nice day so, time for some DIY.

Back trim out:

Pulled the hoses through and both are simply old and very brittle.

Replaced with some yellow hose. I have ordered some more to route it a bit better so it isnt stuck between the heat shield and the oil tank, while in theory there wont be any issues with the heat and the hose, it doesnt hurt to route it a "cooler" way.

Job done anyway, and the valves work again.

and thats £350 saved from going to lambo main dealer.

Hi all,

So car went in for some maintenance this week at Litchfields including:

Engine bay cover adjustments (it was slightly offset and driving me mad that it wasnt perfectly central).

Installing a new custom wiring loom for the 02 sensors to remove CEL lights.

Replace the water pump as it had developed a leak around one of the seals.

Replace the brake pad wear sensors all around.

Replace a door seal.

Replace the brake fluid with Castrol SRF ready for upcoming track days.

Sort a bit of the paint protection out.

£4k in parts and labor.

All but £400 covered under warranty. The warranty renewal is coming up and I WILL be taking it.

It was cool today and the car LOVES it, took the long way back, and enjoyed a hard drive. The SRF really makes a difference in brake pedal feel, placebo or not, it gives me confidence in the brakes. Emptied the tank pretty much and filled it up, shell vpower now 1.66 a litre here, £140 to fill it up.

The valet is coming tomorrow to clean it up :D:D Then Sunday down to a charity event kids vs cancer at Cheltenham.
