The Dark Knight Rises vs Avengers Assemble vs The Amazing Spider-Man

I'm really looking forward to all three /comic book geek

I think though, or rather fear, that The Avengers has a 'Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon' feel to it, which is a bad, really bad thing.

Dark Knight Rises is looking epic.

They should remake Hulk, they really ****** up on that one

Super hero's largely depend on the villain and the Hulk doesn't really have a proper one which makes it's a hard movie to make. Even as a child watching X-men/Spiderman/Batman and the Hulk it was clear that the Hulk cartoon's were aimless. He would just jump around with some dull US army general chasing him around the US.

I can't see AA been good. It will probably be too fragmented by trying to give all the star's screen time and will be litterd with silly/childish jokes- it seems that every time Shield has been introduced in the standalone films there was some cheese to go along with it.

As for DKR- I share some of the concerns about Bane as a villain but Nolan knows what he is doing!

DKR for me, couldn't care less about the other 2 - haven't even seen a trailor for the new Spidey and well the AA one was just chock full of 'meh'.

Batman however, goose bumps Every. Single. Time.

The Dark Knight Rises, there's no question about it. I'll definitely be going to see Avengers Assemble and the Amazing Spiderman, but neither will be in the same league.

'When Gotham is... Ashes... I give you permission to die.'

BOOM!

Looking forward to TDKR as I love Nolan and Bale. AA I'm disappointed that they replaced Edward Norton as Hulk, as I thought he was great for the role, should still be good though.

I struggle to see just how TDKR can live up to the hype whereas I think Avengers and maybe even Spiderman may exceed a lot of peoples expectations so for me

Avengers
TDRK
Spiderman

Oh and can we change the title of the thread as I refuse to acknowledge The Avengers as that crappy title they've given it over here :o

Just TDKR for me. Will wait and see reviews on Avengers before I decide on parting with money and Spiderman just screams blatent cash grab with it's reboot. That one will probably get picked up in a bargain bin a couple of years down the line.

Totally agree, cant actually believe DKR is even being compared to the other two, but no doubt all three will make a lot of money. To me DKR is a proper film, while the others are comic book films, theres quite a difference...

I do think its a shame the Avengers film is only 1 film, theres still enough there to make it over 2 (amazed Im saying this and its only because the lesser known character films were actually well made) especially as I just dont think theres enough time in one film to cover the whole a 'team of individuals' with their in-team fighting to a team that fight for one another against a common foe. TBH I know Im going to be disappointed by it because of this...

The preceding films just havent given any real character depth to make such above a plausible assumption, so I dont know how this single film could. Its definitely the Transformers out of the bunch which will gloss over actual story with loud effects to ensure it gets its takings...

Spiderman is dead to me, blame emo-Spiderman...

ps3ud0

Dark Knight Rises easy. Interested in seeing Spiderman though.

The Avengers can go suck my ****. They've just threw a big pile of superheroes (and Scarlett Johansson) into a big pot, stirred it up and will be hoping for a good movie.

I'm waiting for Iron Man 3.

The Dark Knight was made entirely by the Joker and Twoface being very human characters - they were insane, but somewhat believable.

Bain just looks stupid and I think his pressence will remind us we are watching something intrinsicly 'comic book'.

Not hugely excited about any of these films really.

Hmm, for me:

Avengers
Dark Knight Rises
Spiderman

Reason being, you just know DKR is going to be good but I am most looking forward to seeing if they go the Avengers right. Its been planned for years with the other movies so I refuse to believe they can completely mess it up! If it is good then Avengers will be more rewatchable than DKR due to the lighter nature.

Spiderman I will watch but not as keen as the others.

Although not sure why we are leaving out Man of Steel? Personally want to see that more than Spiderman as well and is probably inbetween Avengers/DKR for me as Returns was so much of a let down.

Isn’t Man of Steel 2013?

Looking forward to that one the most. :)

The Dark Knight Rises for me, love the first two an Nolan know's how to write/direct a good movie.

The Avengers trailer looks hopefull but I'm worried about Josh directing it, he's very hit or miss and I have a feeling it's too big a task for him.

The Amazing Spider-Man look's like it could be fun and I hope it's a better take on Spider-man than the other movies who were just too cartoony.

Please no....don't say that.
I am looking forward to Avengers.
I don't think Jos Whedon could make something as bad as Transformers, even if he tried.

I think his last movie was Serenity which I absolutely loved. So, I'm hoping for more of that.

I'm not really a big fan of Nolan - although I will watch the Batman movie, I'm not hoping much from it. I thought that The Dark Knight was far too long and had me clock watching after they had effectively captured The Joker.

With regards to people claiming that Ledger was brilliant as The Joker - for me Jack Nicholson was miles better. Had Ledger not died, I wonder if he would garner the same accolades. If Jack Nicholson's Joker walked into a restaurant and started ranting, you would get the hell out of there. If Heath Ledger's Joker walked into a restaurant and started raving, you would ask the restaurant staff to call a mental institute.
