Should be going to visit the Eden Project in a couple of weeks, for those that have been, is it worth going to and will it keep me entertained for a whole day?
Yeah, it's a fantastic place, don't know if it would sort you for the whole day. depends how much you like plants and conservation i suppose..
My claim to fame is that i know the guy that was the mastermind behind it, and the gardens of heligan, a great bloke called Tim Smit. couldn't resist throwing it in there
Worth seeing once just so you can say you have but I wasn't massively impressed with it.
Kind of made me feel annoyed at myself in an odd way as I felt I really *should* have liked it. You can see the huge amount of work thats gone into it and it is quite a surreal site but it just didn't impress like I thought it would.
I hear they can't even call Christmas, Christmas there over December as the place is so achingly PC....but thats more a reflection on the U.K. than Eden Project.
You could string it out for a whole day I suppose but I think it would get boring pretty fast.
Like all these sort of places damn expensive too. Take food/ drink with you to save some money.
My vote would be to visit St. Michaels Mount instead, but that's just me.
I went during the construction stages and have yet to get back down there since it has been finished.
The thing that I remember the most was the impressive sight as you first get to see it from the top of the quarry. I was quite blown away by it
Have a great day
seconded - unless you are genuinely interested in horticulture you wont find it particularly entertaining! My GF loved it n I hated it. I suppose you could compare it to marmite.....
you could spend about half a day there. The main attraction is the tropical greenhouse (very hot and humid), really cool since everything has grown massive. It should be obvious if that kind of thing interests you.
Well I quite enjoyed it. I'm not big on plants either but it was all in all a great experience you're not going to see any where else in the UK.
I think half the problem is that its quite a lot of walking involved. Not that I'm anti-exercise as such its just a long walk up & down stairs and then all around the domes.
It's quite fun if you can nick some obscure bit of fruit. Not that I condone such actions but last year we swagged a coco pod thing and a huge green chillie. I saw swag but they'd already dropped
Also if you go don't take much with you as it's very hot in the tropical dome.
The Lost Gardens of Helligan is also worth a visit.
I've got some pics I took with my PDA on my last trip to Cornwall, I'll try and post a few up if I remember later on.
