The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

any eyefinity users had a chance to play this yet?

Ive been looking fwd to this game ALL YEAR, and really hope its compatible with eyefinity....

Have you read any reviews?

omg early screenshots :p, I see no spoilers!

Nope, I haven't. I will play the game at midnight tonight and make up my own mind about it. I don't need someone else telling me what to think of it, or showing me things that I can't yet see (hence, spoilers.)

Well then, I'll stop playing and go outside for a while. Can't expect a 6GB game in DX9 to bring graphics cards to knees. Gonna wait for various MODs to enable high resolution textures and enhance enviroment eye-candies.

Do you have a sound card?

Is it a Xonar?

I know Xonar sound cards often have issues with Beth's games - I still can't get fallout 3 to work properly...

I was kind of hoping this issue wouldn't plague Skyrim... But if you're using a Xonar soundcard it might be worth looking into...

no sound card :)

I had the same problem. Usually turning off "GX" option in the xonar control panel fixes it. That's the bit that intercepts EAX code an emulates it, but for most modern games you don't even need it.

If you've just downloaded the Preload on your IP, would there be any problems with using a VPN to get into the game like an hour after it?

I've used VPN's before for Deus Ex but I keep thinking it might look like I've been hacked or something and get my account suspended which I don't want. Anyone done exactly this yet?

Theres far more to a game than graphics...

Can't exactly "play" 3Dmark on loop can you.

Gamebyro got rid of half it staff in 2009 and is kind of in limbo buyer wise hence why the engine wasn't used for people who are saying it is/is not the same engine.

I've always been bouncing between different VPNs all the time and never met any problem. Actually Steam would send your hardware information to their servers so they know you are using VPNs. They just don't bother to deal with VPN early unlocks yet. Do it at your own risk.

Oh great, so the Vram troll is blacklisting this game and wont bother us for quite some time at least.

Now shoo and go away then Mr. Vram troll.

Ah, thanks, that's a bit of a weight off :) Still always crap my pants before using vpns with the 200 games I have on my account. Scary stuff.

Yep, this drove me mad for ages with Beth games, at one point I even went back to on-board sound! Then I fiddled around, disabled all effects etc etc and it was fine. Why they seem to have all that crap enabled by default, I don't know!
