Terrible day! We need a batting re-think and a new captain Root has lost form with the bat and over bowled archer make stokes captain drop Roy and bring in anyone who is doing well in the county game has worked for Australia smith mk2 in great form!

Well well well, Bairstow drops yet another one. How many more times has Bairstow got to drop catches and make **** all runs before we finally bring Foakes back in?
Incredible to think that this Labuschagne potentially wouldn't have played in this series if Smith hadn't got hit in the head. I really don't fancy England winning any games in this series if Australia have him and Smith batting at 4 & 5.
As our chances of retaining the Ashes are now pretty much gone (We almost certainly aren't chasing 311+) I do hope the Aussies really pump us so we finally see dramatic change to the County calendar, a new captain and a new look team. Thinking long term the team surely needs to look something like:
Burns, Sibley, Hain/Denly, Root, Pope, Stokes, Foakes, Woakes, Archer, Broad, Ali/Leach/Crane. Without knowing them all individually I don't know who would be best skipper, Stokes is a bit too hot headed for liking although I think he makes a great VC.

I think there's a pretty big question mark hanging over Root at this stage. I wouldn't see him as a dead cert for the ideal lineup.
Broad is keeping this team together right now, IMHO.
Well, the batting side that couldn't get to 180 just scored 246. So I don't see why the side that couldn't hit 70 can't score much bigger.
