Thanks for the feedback.

I'm considering the Duke 390, MT09 and Street Triple 765 RS currently.

I'm basically after a fun very light bike for playing in the mountains and those bikes are all on a spectrum in terms of price (CHF 6k, 10k, 13k new) and performance/Kg.

Is there anything else people think I should be considering?

I'd say you'll find the limits of the 390 pretty quickly on the open road. Low gearing makes it a laugh in town, it'll grate outside though.

The 765's chassis is going to outperform all of them out of the box, you'd need to spend a little on the MT-09's chassis to get it anywhere close.

If you're playing in mountains, consider a proper motard- 690SMC-R would get my vote :D

Super Motos aren't great in the mountains. There are so many hairpins where you need proper geometry to lean off the bike.

These roads just down the road from me are the sort I'd be riding on:

Out for a run on the old girl yesterday afternoon. One of those rides that started out only supposed to be a morning run but ended up with me out on the roads till 15:00 in the afternoon I was having so much fun. For a 17 year old machine, she can still shift. :D
