I'm pretty sure he said 50% of our goods and services. I don't know if that's still wrong, but it's somewhat different to just goods alone.

Yes true clever wording but still it implies that we export a lot to the eu when we do not.

I think the questioner had a point, he was highlighting that the EU economy is growing at a slower rate compared to that of the rest of the world.

No, I think he articulated his point very well, which was

"Number.....smaller.......bad"

And of course previous third world economies are 'growing faster' in % terms....because they are starting from a much lower starting point....we are facilitating their growth, that's a good thing!

Can't argue with him about the right to work policy and if people come here and can't support themselves they have to go home.

I don't believe it there are eu human rights laws which will circumvent it.

Basically the eu = working class must suffer so the haves can continue to have, it's a big business protection ponzy scheme.

Services are still "exports" though, they generate revenue and create and sustain jobs. It doesn't have to be a physical item to be useful to the economy.

But he did not say we only export 6% of our physical goods to the eu though for obvious reasons.
Our number 1 services export are in work benefits and sick people fixed for free on our nhs then exported home healthy again.

His point was why do we want to stay in a club that's stagnating compared to the rest of the world. But then you know that and are just being obtuse and desperate.

Do you have any stats to get even close to backing that up? Because although I bet the numbers sound high, they'll be tiny compared to the benefits of staying in, especially when you subtract the amount it costs other EU countries to fix up Brits abroad via E111.

It's stagnated because it's reached a high level of living standards. Sure some countries are growing much faster but they are starting from a far far lower standard and will also begin to slow once they become more developed.

If anything it's the other way round!

Ask BA how much they like the EU261 regulations and the fact competitors on flights to Europe don't need to conform with them.

Ask large chains how much they like the working time directive.

Etc
