Gosh I had no idea

My point is that 'because they want in the EU' is not the reason they want visa free travel. Heck most of this thread doesn't want to be in the EU but I bet you'll want visa free travel to Europe :p

Visa free travel is a non-issue. I went to Turkey and paid £5 for a Visa on arrival, going to America is more or less the same deal apart from you do it online before hand. Visa's just aren't a deal breaker

Still only met the one in voter.

Wow. Just wow. I know a lot of Brexit fans (including a few family members) however I know a lot more people that will be voting in. How can anyone be in such a blinkered reality that there is no range of views on an issue that is consistently estimated to split society down the middle? Well, leaning towards stay of course.

Leave people seem to be the same people who skipped school as it seemed cool at the time. The in people stayed in school and followed the rules.

One saw the big picture but got told they were boring. The other wanted a good time but now probably regrets it

If the referendum vote is a "leave the EU", is it mandatory for the parliament to ratify the vote? or a leave vote is automatically a command to the parliament to leave asap?

You really believe me blinkered :D

Polls mean nothing. I think most of the in voters are down south (incidentally the grounds where pollsters typically travel to) where establishment ideals begin to permeate more easily.

June 24th will be D-Day. If we leave there is work to be done. If we stay the hegemony of the EU will seek to assert more dominance. The in camp must be scared of a little hard work :p

Or those who are perspicacious enough to see the EU for what it is. Like my earlier comment, to you its about class. Screw the poor is effective your implication of such a thinly veiled remark. What's the matter? Council scrotes not following orders? Or should it be "Do as Simon says"?

What are you talking about?

Just funny I thought. Was more interested in the responses, although I don't know the type of responses.

I'm still undecided but we have been in for 30years no major problems and all the out arguments seem to be UKIP general election material

What are you talking about?

We have all been on a night out with that mate who, when you are in a club, says “it’s **** here” let’s go somewhere else.
Then when you leave, you realise he has no idea where to go and the place you left won’t let you back in.
Without a decent follow-up plan, a leave vote could see the UK standing in a kebab shop arguing about whose fault it is.

Could MPs block an EU exit if Britain votes for it?

Michael, from East Sussex asks an intriguing question - could the necessary legislation pass the Commons if all SNP and Lib Dems, nearly all Labour and many Conservative MPs were in favour of staying?

The answer is that technically MPs could block an EU exit - but it would be seen as political suicide to go against the will of the people as expressed in a referendum. The referendum result is not legally binding - Parliament still has to pass the laws that will get Britain out of the 28 nation bloc, starting with the repeal of the 1972 European Communities Act.

The withdrawal agreement would also have to be ratified by Parliament - the House of Lords and/or the Commons could vote against ratification, according to a House of Commons library report.

It adds: "If the Commons resolves against ratification, the treaty can still be ratified if the Government lays a statement explaining why the treaty should nonetheless be ratified and the House of Commons does not resolve against ratification a second time within 21 days (this process can be repeated ad infinitum)."

In practice, Conservative MPs who voted to remain in the EU would be whipped to vote with the government. Any who defied the whip would have to face the wrath of voters at the next general election.

One scenario that could see the referendum result overturned, is if MPs forced a general election and a party campaigned on a promise to keep Britain in the EU, got elected and then claimed that the election mandate topped the referendum one. Two thirds of MPs would have to vote for a general election to be held before the next scheduled one in 2020.

My Facebook suggests a definite correlation

It is frightening the way some people think...

Errr... The EU if yesteryear is a far cry from now. Thought you would have discovered that by now

Nice copy/paste ;)
