The food holocaust begins?

No, if you have ever been to America and see the size of food portions, they waste so much food anyway, its about time they paid for all that waste, All you can eat places for £4-5 are shocking.

theres plenty of all you can eat places for £4-£5 in rip off britain, theres a lot more for £5-£8 though, lets remember we do pay inflated prices and all the tax etc, so its hardly SHOCKING.

A restaurateur perhaps? It is a wholesaler (which happens to be part of the Wal-Mart group), NOT the Wal-Mart supermarket itself.

But the limits are the bags they sell to customers in store, from one chain, they could go and get them from another walmart store, but i bet they have a standing delivery with a suppler.

That and they sell 50lb bags so i doubt even a restaurant uses 200lbs (dry weight) of rice a day.

It's not always possible for someone responsible for purchasing to make a visit every day, or even every couple of days. Such a person might make a visit to the wholesaler once every fortnight or once a month.

The impact of this is larger than it might immediately seem.

There is, I only know of 2 in my whole town. You have at least 3-4 at every intersection in the US of A

I have a couple of packets of Bachelors Savoury Rice that've been knocking about in a cupboard for ages now, are they likely to be worth something soon then?

Edit: One is Golden veg and the other is mushroom if that makes a difference.

erm, every intersection? I seriously doubt that.
Where were you in the US? Ill guess it was somewhere a bit more densely populated than wigan too.
The fact you claim there are so many of them also twists it a bit more in my favour, as with lots of competition you need competitive prices, whereas there are not many in UK in comparison but they manage to keep prices at around the same level..

China town is usually abundant with all you can eat places!
