The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

Apparently, a nice sunny day is the wrong kind of weather for a train, so they've had to cancel lots of em today. :D

Well when you have longass sections of metal welded together there is an issue with expansion/contraction if temperatures go outside those ranges.

Could blame the fact that they cba putting in better measures to relieve strain beforehand but then you get a less robust rail and worse ride so there's no free lunch on offer.

Got mine today, after taking ages pulling apart my cask to find a space (forgot how small it was) it's got a very audible high pitched whine sound constantly.

It's not that it's loud, it's the frequency of it (I can imagine older people may not be able to hear it always). I'll be returning mine tomorrow & going for the 980ti, I simply don't trust not to get it again & can't be bothered messing around with multiple returns.

A slight whine would be fun during gaming (usually loud sounds come along with it) but while on the desktop & during the boot is not acceptable - it's like having ringing in yours ears constantly & would drive me insane after a while.

Thanks bud :)

I tried that on the 290X and didn't help unfortunately. It must be a lead issue and the first lead I had would flicker badly at 120Hz to a point it was a solid black screen. I tried the one that came with the monitor and the same, so I bought a better quality Startech cable and that works for a few seconds and then black screen, works again, black screen but not as bad as the first 2.

I am betting if I get a 1.2 DP cable that is good quality, that would help. Slightly annoyed that the damned capture card has wasted most of my morning and now I need to get ready for work :(

Oh well, I can play tonight for a bit.

Thanks for the help as well chaps. All help is welcomed.

I don't know if this would help but i found this thread awhile back when i was looking into maybe going 4k

Although this specific problem was flickering on 4k @60hz maybe it could be a similar thing that you are suffering. The linked threads in that thread go into more detail but apparently DP sends power over pin 20 which i guess can cause problems for some users. The guy goes onto recommend this cable from the rainforest that is only 19 pin with pin 20 unconnected.

Wether it would help i can't say but thought i would post it up and let you make your own decisions to try that cable (or try to find another 19 pin cable)

Will be interesting to see if you get charged a re-stocking fee.
