The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

I'm no fan of his but the following posts basically say the guy said effectively "hey, I installed some waterblocks on my cards, overvolted them and they died within hours", then he removed the waterblocks being added hours earlier part and just flat out said AB killed his card flat out.

He doesn't seem entirely pleasant but ultimately he gets a hell of a lot of crap and accusations and from my own experience of most computer users the majority over state their 'ability' because they can up a few settings in a bios or overclock a gpu as if it's some magical skill. Plenty of people kill their hardware trying to install new cooling, immediately jumping to not just asking a question about it but actively screaming that someone else killed your card is ridiculous.

Regardless of how great someone believes they are because they got some high up number in a benchmark, when a card dies hours after you install new cooling and decide to blame someone else while also deciding it couldn't possibly have anything to do with the problem because it ran for a few hours before dying... lol.

All true, but he's like it to every single user. There's no middle ground. Nobody likes dealing with the "well it was working before" crew

I do hope that users who has gpu's from both vendors actually will get some benefits from them in DX12. I doubt Gregster for example would mind using Titan X together with Fury's compute performance to pack it up :)

Talking of Batman, here is the bench result on a Fury X at 1080P with all the settings maxed (that are available)

Good frames, but looking at gpu usage, you are getting cpu 'necked quite often, especially in 2nd scene. Just tells about AMD's driver overhead.

I think lowest usage I saw on screen was 35% ?

Just spoke to the competitor regarding he RMA, apparently he's had loads of calls about the exact same thing this morning (day after a batch of cards went out for next day).

From the sounds of it I should get a full refund, fingers crossed.

I wonder if we will see a second revision of the fury X at any point (which they can confirm for certain this issue has been rectified) as I love the style, look & concept of the card - the good 4k performance is also a key plus. Just a shame that it's basically a lottery at the moment buying one.

Indeed,

I'll be on the edge for a while, seriously tempted to got the G1 but giving AMD a while to see if they make any good noises on the matter. I have to say though, they really are making it hard to support them sometimes. :p

Frames were all over the place but the game played fine at 1080P. No problems for me in any game as yet and today I start the methodical testing.

I wait for a driver update as that indicate whats in store for us and the Fury 2 also.

yea I find myself smiling when people say oh check the benchmarks and I go well how does it play?

What OS are you using? Do you think you might do new benches when W10 is out? It would be interesting to get that comparison.

I am on Win 8.1 and as soon as July 28th is here, I will go W10. I will of course be testing both the TX and FX against each other :)

Anyone here have Thief and able to run Mantle with it? I just tried and no joy. Did a file integrity check as well. Runs fine in D3D and SEV3 runs fine in Mantle.

Just to point out. It isn't a new directx version.
12_1 it's not 12.1

Anyway when can we expect to buy this gpu now?
