The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

It's gone down £100 since release though.

I just wanted to highlight AMD's blatent lying in the media for those who seem to believe that AMD are Jesus in a corporate form, we'd probably have a dedicated thread by them if Intel/NVidia were caught in a lie.

Hilarious, defending Nvidia who have been caught out several times this year lying.
Cough** 3.5GB **cough Not bothering to optimise Kepler or Fermi GPU's as they want people to upgrade constantly **cough** DX12 Ashes of Singularity benchmarks are not Nvidia fault even though they released a specific driver for it just before the bench system was released **..
You are hilarious.

Will you admit amd weren't so innocent then?
Amd with their grenada launch, using an optimised driver that didn't support hawaii, to falsify a product improvement before they were found out.

Hey Kaap - Not too sure where to put this post, but - How are you liking Furys to Titans?

The reason I use both is no one card can do everything well. We can expect both AMD and NVidia to mess up on drivers which gives the advantage to one or the other.

As to comparing the cards it is not really fair as the Fury X should be compared to the 6gb 980 Ti.

It you use TitanXs they are best in multi GPU setups @2160p where they can really use the extra VRAM. For single card use or low resolution it is not worth using them as you can do equally well with other cards.

For single or two way setups I think the Fury X will start giving the GTX 980 Ti a lot of serious competition @2160p once it gets voltage control.

I have also noticed that a custom waterblock seems to work much better than the AIO cooler on the Fury Xs. One of my FXs struggled to do 1120 on the core with the AIO cooler running on it's own, now all 4 can do at least 1130 running together with custom waterblocks. I will try and get some 1140 runs done on stock volts once the temp in my room goes down. Waterblocks may cool the cards better but it does nothing to help with room temp.:D

How'd you figure the cooling made the difference? With my fan profile my temps don't go past 50 but I can't push the clocks past 1130 ish without artefacting, was the same before i changed the fan curve too (so maxing around 60 by default) :/

My room temp is 25c

Below is the cards at idle

And after they have been running Valley @2160p they hit 36c @1130/500 with no artifacts.

Below is the temps just after exiting the Valley bench.

Very valid points - Thanks! I wasn't necessarily trying to compare FX to TX, but since I don't believe you own 4 980Tis it's the only one I could ask you on. :p

The 4gb of VRAM is one reason why I didn't pick the FX really, especially since I planned to go 4k - I'll be interested in how two way SLI/Xfire ends up between the two... Keep us updated. :)

I can lend you an industrial sized fan if that's any help! :D

Kaap, could you update my rig picture in the OP please? Thanks. :)

Not the same league as lying to consumers or gimping products consumers have already purchased.
Both Nvidia and AMD make other claims about unreleased hardware.

Nvidia are just on another level. Look, just today OXIDE have stated that Nvidia tried to get them to tone down parts of Ashes of Singularity to which they refused, as they should.
Nvidia are massively crooked and if you cant see through your fanboy specs you need a new pair.
