The future of pc gaming

it really isn't.

I would disagree, most releases now have some form of online protection, this has made it hard for people to hack and get the full benefits of an original copy.

It will not be long before you HAVE to play your games through the likes of Steam.

multiplayer has pretty much always been left out.

The only fact it seems more apparent now is most games come with mp, or are mainly mp focused.

the online stuff is usually cracked and done and the pirates playing the game working fine before the actual customers have been able to activate their game because the activation servers have been overloaded.

Look at it logically...

2009 30% games had MP
2010 40% games had MP

your telling me hackers now crack more games (despite tighter security) with MP then in 2009?

I would like proof.

Even if they don't crack more, they crack less for example, it is obvious that more games come out with a MP focus. So my logic still stands.

The increase is probably more than 10% too. Thus less piracy basically.

Like I said, I think within the next 2-3 years all PC games will be only available through Steam and the like. While console owners play with their chipped consoles all the games under the sun, the future actually looks bleaker for consoles, unless they change the way games are being distributed. They are realizing this I think, hence you can buy full games of PSN and xbox live.

no one denies that piracy and used games are costing console developers tons of money. However, games on consoles still sell tons of copies. If pc games sold as well as console games no one would complain.

Cloud computing a server will do the work somewhere while we just stare a screen with a net connection....

i cant remember where i saw it but very recently i saw something saying highend PC parts bought for gaming outsold all consoles together this year. Now obviously none of the current console are new as we are well into their life atm. But it was still interesting.

Also when the old console refresh comes about and everyone says look how many more consoles were sold than gaming PCs they treat consoles as one. where as it should be ps3 pc wii xbox not console vs pc

PC gaming is fine basically :P and will be for a good long time.
