I've always preferred atmospheric, ambient music over rock music for gaming. It's a great series of tracks by Aubrey Hodges.

I find it quite sad that some people do not like game music and turn it off. Music in games really sets atmosphere all the way back to the early 90s playing Amiga games for me.
Some of the opening title scenes with music is baked into my head because it gave me chills (good and bad) Shadow of the Beast, Turrican series, Death Mask, Alien Breed and many more.
Even when I play or listen to them now (usually longplay of games on youtube) I get memories of playing games in the attic with friends in the dark. The music even now give me chills. Imagine playing these as a 9 year old (intro scene and music is what I remember the most)
