The only thing bad to come out of this is the fall out between friends and families. That will take longer to heal than the potential, but always flawed, yes outcome...

Also, posting for the lols...classic "Yes" campaign intelligence:

Why are these people allowed a vote

Well that ended well. A close win for No was always going to be the best result possible. Now I just hope those No voters who were swayed by promises of extra powers for Scotland are vocal in demanding them. It would be a real shame if the government gets away with manipulating such an important referendum using empty promises.

Erm, just like every election manifesto ever written...? Pre-election promises aren't worth the paper they're written on.

Doesn't matter I'm afraid, the mere prospect is fuel against the union. I think it should be delivered, but only if all the nation's get it aswell.

As I said, well be back again at some point.

On a personal level I'm pleased that they are staying in the union, but I can understand the desire to split for many (who feel abandoned by Westminster). Let's see if we see any meaningful changes as a result of this (I doubt it tbh).

Just 4 out of 32 electoral regions voted Yes....

Does that matter in any way, shape or form?

Taken as a whole, 45% voted YES.

Just to make the point further, 49% could have voted YES with 32/32 electoral regions voting NO overall. So what does that mean? Nothing, surely.

no wins, but Scotland is now divided
what will be the fall out from that I wonder

Even if yes had won, Scotland would still be very divided.

Can we now go on as normal, or does London want to have a referendum too, because clearly Londoners would be much better off without the burden of the rest of the UK holding it back. Flawed voting system and should never have happened in the first place.

It's all going to be a bit of a mess.

Devo-max massively raises the profile of the 'west lothian' question

London, surely, should be crying out for more powers after the impending package scotland seems likely to get.
