The Greatest Summer of Films ever?

Aye Ted and The Dictator had the whole cinema in laughs before the showing of American Pie we went to. The Raid, is that the one the TV adverts are calling the best action film ever? :/

I mentioned it earlier but I'm really looking forward to Gangster Squad

Great cast and looks like there's some great action scenes as well :)

Agreed, the Gangster Squad looks like it should be really good, any film starring Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin and Nick Nolte ought to be decent! Though technically it's not a summer film, it's not due out until November here in the UK.

I'll definitely be going to see Prometheus, The Dark Knight Rises, The Dictator, and possibly Expendables 2 and Spiderman. I will definitely not be seeing the other films, MIB3 looks rubbish and I think it could well tank at the box office.

I've got to admit I've got some doubts about it being the greatest summer of films ever and that's not just because many aren't released in the summer. Surely it's a bit early to be calling them all great when you simply can't have seen most of them yet? There's some good potential films in there but there's doubtless going to be some dross in there too.

//edit are there really 11 sequels/prequels in a list of 17? I'm being generous and not counting The Avengers despite many of the characters appearing in other films so it's hardly much of an original work.
