That's right folks!
Here we have a 1978 Honda CB550 which will be undergoing transformation over the coming weeks:
(Sorry for the awful picture quality, she'll have to stay tucked in the shed till the work is done! Suppose a little clearout of the shed sould make things a little easier!)
Here is an outline of what I have planned:
Changes:
-Big tank with dents suitable for clip-ons
-Clip-on bars
-New single seat
-Suitable battery (will get on to that later)
-Chrome headlamp basket
-Chrome headlamp clamps
-New levers
-New smaller clocks
-Norton silencer
-Heatwrap on pipes
Mods
-Relocate the battery to under the seat cowl thus removing green side panels and giving the bike a cleaner look need something small for this
-Re-jet + cleanout of the carbs
-New spark plugs
-Maybe new pods for the carb (they look a little squashed so maybe some smaller ones?)
-Cleaning up the top triple clamp as there will be no bars attatched to them, maybe mount clocks and move the ignition key somwhere else?
Removals:
-Front and rear fenders
**********************************************************
The bike itself has a problem which arises now and again whereby the second cylinder won't fire, I'm hoping this is due to a dodgy spark plug as they look kind of old.
The engine casing has all been sprayed black so I'm looking to remove the paint and get the chrome under it nice and shiny!
Think that's about it for now, any suggestion would be most welcome!!
