Well this is quite a 1 year ownership journey for me.
Jan 2012 - HP DV6 purchased
Feb 2012 - Fan fails on the laptop, a slow death after struggling though the last weeks of January. Sent back for repairs.
November 2012 - Screen flickering issue when adjusting angle of the display (cable issue, causing pink lines when adjusting)
December 2012 - Laptop repaired and arrived back towards the end of the month (sent very close to Christmas rush, expected this). Quite a large chip in the plastic after it came back to me.
Jan 2013: They agree to repair the 'cosmetic damage' 'as a gesture of goodwill', but refuse to accept that having all of this occur within a year is rather annoying to say the least.
Christ, this laptop has caused me so much stress.
The actual hardware is good - some people on Notebook Review Forums have actually managed to overclock the A6 to produce a meaty boost, but I have my desktop for tasks requiring a lot of grunt.
Lesson learnt: Don't buy anything from HP's consumer range if you value build quality and support.
