The King is Dead, Long Live the ...

So this thing is actually quite big.

If it's too big for you, feel welcome to post it to me! :D I rather wanted one to replace my 420 when I saw this one launch but I just couldn't justify the cost. Looks like you've gone all-in there; nice! :D
Just checked out of curiosity and mine's been running for 9 years now with no issues. You should at least get longevity out of it; they're well made. Mine still needed a good flush though and then some vinegar.

I wasn't going to bother, but now that I've seen that, that looks horrific.

Definitely worth doing - even if you find out that things have improved and everything is fine. It's better than only finding out when you can see flakes of crud jammed in your blocks. Since mine is empty currently (I'm at the motherboard on a cardboard box stage still) I probably ought to give it a 10-year flush out for good measure....maybe after the mother-in-law has left! :D

I have a MoRa3 420 (with 4x Noctua NF-A20) sat in my storage cupboard, waiting for the day I get my finger out and redo my system - the whole study renovation crashed to a halt after losing my sister-in-law in June.
I think once Xmas is out of the way, I'll be able to focus a bit more on what I want to do (custom desk/office build, system update to include full watercooling and finally make use of all the kit i've stockpiled).

Enjoy yours - it's going to be awesome :)

The NF-A20's are the way to go for the 420. I had Aerocool 200 mm's on there to start as they were thinner and fitted under the original grill. Once I found there was a deeper grill, I swapped them out. Much better. I scrapped the original grill because obviously I'd never need it....only now I want it standalone (rather than screwed to the side of the case) so it would have come in handy *facepalm*

Prepping the control unit for the fans. Needs the bottom taken off, the two fan headers added and the interconnecting cables plugged in. The install materials aren't as per the instructions (manual shows nut and bolt, but a countersunk screw is used) but easily worked out. Passive control box goes on the back of the radiator.

The fan headers are then accessible by a gap in the base.

Looking good. Pics of how it works are definitely helpful as if I remember correctly, it's just not joined-up on their website. Sort of torn whether I like the pump headers there or not. I'd not really thought of mounting the pump(s) on the rad but no reason why not if it's protected - from being kicked for example. I guess it gives you the option of using it or ignoring it. I'd sort of envisaged an umbilical coming from the PC for power and control but I guess it could be more self-contained and just have a 'dumb' waterpath through the PC on the other side of some QDCs.

If all those fan headers (on the plate) are connected it certainly gives you enough - I guess it's so you can more easily choose the orientation of the fan frame.

Yeah, even if it just had some sort of shroud over the top of pump cables to hide them from view, out of side out of mind I guess once it's all set up.

Yeah, I'm slightly worried about this - you're supplied with 4 sets of fan powers cables, 2x short ones for the bottom half, and 2 long ones for the top half - now the distribution connects top and bottom on either side, so my assumption is it's connected up internally as there's not actually sockets at the top for the longer fan cables, just solder pads for it!

And done

I bought M4x10mm bolts for installing the fans as these don't come with the radiator or the fans.

Edit: I take that back, there is a wee bag of what looks like M4x10mm bolts.

Could maybe do with adding a fan shroud on the back as well to be honest, just to protect the fins from getting bashed.
