The King of Limbs is here

lol.

I love Radiohead but it's not great mate.

Don't tell me whether music is worthy or not lol:p

I'm a musician and Its a great album...Some very clever parts in it.

You may not like it...I don't care.

Haven't you heard some people like Jazz others hate it...

Next you'll be telling me Coltrane or Davis are crap...:D

Thats not the point!

Hits heAD AT WALL....?

If you don't get it .......then its great.

welcome to listening

I just don't find The King of Limbs as remotely engaging as OK Computer, Kid A, The Bends or Pablo Honey. It's not a bad record, to me it just doesn't do as much as Kid A or OK Computer does, both of which contain amazing vocal performances and musicianship. If you truly believe King of Limbs to be as good as either of those albums, more power to you, but to me recent Radiohead hasn't captured the same consistency or jaw dropping moments of past albums.

Also, I don't think saying that because you like it and are a musician that makes it inherently good. I've been playing guitar for 11 years, was a music journalist for 5 years, but that doesn't make my taste inherently better than yours. Do you like Bob Dylan, Elliott Smith, Dave Brubeck, Nina Simone, Tool and Jurassic 5? Taste is inherently personal, that's kind of the point of music.

I'm not talking about taste.

I'm talking about the ability to listen to music from a different perspective.

I'm a massive radiohead fan. Absolute favourite band in the world!

First listen: Wasn't what i was expecting and didn't like it straight away.

Listened to it maybe 20-25 times now, absolutely love it :)

Lotus Flower & Codex are immense!!

Morning Mr Magpie and Little by Little are also crackers.

BUMPATRON.

I finally got round to listening to this. It just feels like there is nothing to this album, the melodies are so threadbare and the beats so meandering and confusing it's hard for me to say anything positive about it at all. The sound effects on it are just grim, so many blips and beats that sound like dud cables or crackling electronics. I wanted to like it but damn, it's so boring!

I guess this is where RH fans get divided though. Some embrace the diversity, others reject the move away from guitars and the traditional rock sounding tracks of the earlier albums.

You mean their move away from being able to write decent songs? :p

Wholeheartedly agree sadly, and this is from a big Radiohead fan. it's just dreary and instantly forgettable.

Bumpatron mark 2.

Believe it of not I've decided that I actually quite like this album! I think I was convinced to give it another whirl after recently buying tickets for their upcoming tour. What strikes me about it is that in terms of melody and song structure, it's actually quite straightforward and it's what sits on top of that framework that can be jarring (noises and blips). I find this to be in complete contrast to In Rainbows, which was made of relatively 'simple' and familiar sounds, but the songs really did meander all over the place which makes it hard for me to pay attention to it.

I really like the percussion on KOL, it sounds very fresh and notably different from their past work. Again, the sounds themselves are strange but the framework is simple, usually a 4/4 time signature. I guess I would say it's abrasive yet manageable, which I suppose it true of everything on this album.

How strange that I've made a complete turn around on this :)

At present, I still have to wrestle get on with Amnesiac or In Rainbows, with Hail to the Thief always being very patchy to me (not helped when I'm presented with two alternative song titles, possibly the most pretentious thing I've ever seen).
