*The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake*

I will likely get on release, I’m quite hyped by virtue of it being Zelda, even if the original game doesn’t hold anything special for me really.

It would definitely of been nice to have a few more details.

I'm just hoping it doesn't release too close to GTA6 lol..

According to Nate the Hate, the game is likely to launch in late Q3/4 ... which places it within the same window as GTA6. Personally, OOT is a day 1 purchase for me, but I'm not overly fussed about GTA6. I'll probably wait until it's released on PC ... and even then. And I'm not convinced the audience for both games is similar, tbh.

Honestly would rather keep it as a memory and they give me new games with new stories. Remakes generally don't do it for me.

Oot is special because of when it was made and the memories engrained of it during that time.

This really. It was a groundbreaking game for its time and those memories are worth preserving. Although I did actually end up replaying it on the 3DS, which was more or less a straight port and it frustrated me more than not than on the first play through on the N64.

Wished they focussed on new stories / games on the S2.

I wonder if it will get full voice acting this time, would be nice compared the the repetitive comments link usually makes!

Same it doesn’t need it. Just needs a massive facelift with modern controls and camera. I am trying to play wind waker on the Switch 2 and frankly the controls are pretty awful by today’s standards. It’s still great but my god is it jank control wise.

I couldn't get on with he new Zelda's. I think it's because I hate the weapon break mechanic. It seems silly to let quite a small part of the game bother me so much but it just does.

The original OoT is probably my favourite game ever and, though there's no way I won't buy this on day one, I'm not expecting it will capture me in quite the same way. An announcement so close to release makes me think this will be a glow-up of the original but fundamentally the same game which, now I'm 40, won't pose enough challenge to make me love it .

I only played the original for about 5 minutes when it came bundled with Wind Waker on the Gamecube lol.

I'll probably get it just so I can finally see what all the fuss is about.

It probably won't hit quite the same in 2026 - a big part of the reason it felt so significant at the time was that it was such a technical achievement, the first time we saw Hyrule in 3D, the sheer size...none of which is really true anymore. But who knows, maybe this will be a bit more than a simple remaster?

Not sure how the controls will work, same with Mario 64 I found it was the controller that married to the game, tried Mario since and it doesn't quite hit the same without the N64 controller.

As I don't own a switch it won't be a purchase for me sadly.
