Solaris, is that a windows XP theme?

Regarding the .net framework, fire up windows update and it will show in the "Optional software" updates section. alternatively search microsoft.com for .net framework download. It's free and not massive to DL :)

I cant seriously believe that in vista a message like that would come up, what a complete disgrace by microsoft, they make the .net framework ffs, the message should say "you need to upgrade your version of the .net framework, click here to download it from microsoft". Thats worse than xp because at least in xp it doesnt come up with the crap about contacting your "application publisher". 7 Years to make it and they can't even do that. :(

It's worded like that because different applications don't always work on the latest version of .net framework, some specifically require the older version. Hence the instuction to talk to the application publisher first.

Get off the Vista bashing bandwagon.

It's just a genuine critisism. It should have been done in xp and 2000 as well, countless numbers of people are confused by these error messages which offer no explanation to the end user on how to fix them or what they mean, it should have been the 1st thing microsoft changed when creating a new os, I certainly know if I was making a piece of software I would not allow mysterious error messages like microsofts to appear, such as "stop error:0000f38504". Just because you like a piece of software doesn't mean that there aren't flaws and that everyone who says anything bad about it is just jumping on a bandwagon, personally I just thought that after 12 years of modern os they could have changed the error messages from the windows 95 style they still use.
