The Most Illegal Move in the History of Wrestling

XWT is your friend :)

CMLL is where it's at. CZW is majority laughs. If you get any wrestling in your area with names. Particually TNA. Go. It's an amazing experience. Laughing and being over the top is too good- especially after 5-6 beers.. chants.. ring invasions.. kayfabe breaking.. awesome.

I pretty much watched all of that with my mouth wide open in pure disbelief. Awful, just awful. Why would anybody choose to pay to watch that?

can you honestly not see how it might entertain people ?

just because you personally dont like it doesnt mean its awful. i dont like theatre but i know that plenty of people pay a lot of money to go see plays which i would find much less entertaining than that video

This video pretty much defines what wrestling is, stupid, silly, no cares entertainment. Its something to go see and enjoy for a few hours. WWE kinda did this sort of thing with papa shango.

I think people forgot that wrestling isn't trying to be a realistic fight, it knows what it is and everyone is in on the act. Its just a show.

Exactly. If you want actual fighting, watch MMA or Boxing or something. Wrestling's not for you.

I don't like theatre much either, but I completely understand why others do and why many people enjoy it. This on the other hand is completely lost on me. Don't get me wrong, people are free to enjoy whatever they want to enjoy, but I simply do not get this. What about that video is enjoyable, other than to laugh at how silly and puerile it is (or is that the point, to laugh at it)?

Wrestling shows afaik have the same roots as theatre historically, and just like theatre you have different genres ... the one above is more comedy oriented as opposed to things like TNA/WWE that are different.

I could say the same thing about boxing or MMA. People actually trying to hurt each other just doesn't do anything for me, and I can't work out why people would watch that, but they do.

For me, Wrestling is telling a story, there's characters I enjoy watching give great promos (But you already know that), and the matches themselves are choreographed, and generally entertaining to watch. Thing like:

And then things like this in the Royal Rumble (You're eliminated if you're thrown out and your feet touch the floor):
