Hue is the best place I went to, that and Halong Bay.
You could go to the Cu-Chi tunnels outside of Saigon and fire some guns. The most I spent in the 'Nam in one go was there. $1.60 per bullet. I had a magazine on an AK47 and an M16. It's part of the Government's "Ammo Reduction Strategy" to get rid of old bullets left behind after the war. Apparently though the bullets are so old and the guns so badly maintained that they often misfire. A Japanese tourist had the top of his head blown of by a misfiring AK a couple of weeks before I was there. Needless to say the guide only told us after we'd spent our cash.
Probably a once in a lifetime opportunity that is - I doubt I will ever fire an assault rifle ever again.
