The name's Bond. James Bond. Skyfall

does this mean we will see goldeneye on bluray now? i hope so.

good news about the film being back on, im 50/50 on DC hes alright, prefer brosnan. He did a better bond in Layer Cake tbh.
QoS was pretty bad, but i loved the opening and the plane bit. epic bond moments.

Can't say I'm a particular fan of Daniel Craig as Bond any more wooden and he'd be a Thunderbirds extra, but then they don't make movies like the used to and we'll probably never see an absolutely amazing Bond film again. I'd watch all of them again apart from the Craig ones and the last two Brosnan ones which I thought were pretty lame. It says something when the ones from the 70's and 80's are vastly superior to the modern offerings.

apart from goldeneye all brosnen ones are cheesy and have dated so quickly
roger moore ones are also maximum cheeseage and pretty poor

I actually quite like the dalton ones now
Goldeneye was written for Dalton as Bond. However there was an argument over rights to Bond and Dalton quit as Bond. Then in 1995 Brosnan took over and filmed Goldeneye. So when you say you like Goldeneye AND the Dalton Bonds there's a reason for that. ;)

my favourites were the roger moore and dalton ,oh and connery films but i do like how the new bond films have a more gritty format, i just hope its better than quantom of solace which was quite poo really

I love the Dalton films. But then I also equally love the Moore and Connery ones. Connery is probably my fave Bond though, without sounding overly gay he's just the most manly. :D

Daniel Craig is my favourite bond and Casino Royale is my favourite Bond movie.

There I said it.

Craig brought a bit more grit to the franchise. You started to believe here was a guy that could actually do some damage to baddies, rather than the relatively wimpy Pierce. I think Craig is a brilliant Bond and CR was a revelation for me. Far more believable and almost Bourne-like.

Whether or not this is what Bond should be like, is another matter.

I myself didnt like Casino royale but i did like Quantum of Solace though....as for DC being Bond??...nah never liked him...always thought the best Bonds were Moore and Brosnan but sadly they werent kept on...well Moore is pretty old but i thought Brosnan still had a few more left in him.

But DC is ok-ish...not a great fan of his acting tbh...he doesnt have the smoothness and charm like Brosnan and Moore had back in the day.

But Casino Royale was diabolical tbqh....i hope the new Bond is much better than the last 2.

e. You started to believe here was a guy that could actually do some damage to baddies, rather than the relatively wimpy Pierce.

Haha, I think it is all relative. If you compare Brosnan to DC then yeah, he seems a bit of a nancy boy. If you compare Roger Moore to Brosnan, Brosnan looks like some sort of action hero god :D

I agree with your post. DC is a good Bond I did like Casino Royal. Although it did get a bit long it was a good watch!

Here is hoping Bond 23 is awesome sauce!

I'm a huge Bond fan (or was) but was so so so disappointed with QoS that it's possibly put me off the series until they bring back Q and the gadgets. This one can be nothing like the Bourne films and be more like James Bond, because it is at the end of the day A BOND MOVIE!

I've been working my way leisurely through the Bond books over the past few years, and Craig is definitely a lot closer to Bond than most of the others, and CR was definitely more like the books than the other films.

It always amuses me when people moan about the lack of gadgets or absurd plots or whatever, given that those are almost entirely of the films and nothing like the books. The books and films are so far removed from one another.

I've only read a couple of the books but Bond was a lot less lightweight in the books, the tone was darker and there was more of an air of menace to him. I also find it somewhat amusing that the quintessential "English" secret agent is in fact intended to be half Scottish, half French-Swiss.

I watched Casino Royale on Sunday and QoS on Monday (pub on Tuesday) and then new bond on Wednesday....not a bad week.

I think the new film will probably follow on. The chap who dies at the end of QoS M said was killed by his own so they are probably going to get Bond to find the rest of them.

On the radio they mentioned something about the financial crisis and Bond so perhaps they are getting him to chase the money (or I was just drowsing through and put two stories into one).

I'd like a return to the Bond films of the 90s. Not that I didn't like CR or QoS but after Goldeneye, TMD and DAD I thought they were a step backwards.

I didn't like Daniel Craig at first but i've come to like him better so I don't think it's him. It's just.... not got that "edgey" feel anymore, it doesn't flow properly.

I never got to this part of the film but he was on some bungy rope bouncing up and down punching people then he pings up and shoots someone. I can remember thinking "W....T.....F! Save it for the Matrix you clowns." after that I was in a negative mindset about the whole new direction.
That was the culmination of the Siena roof chase sequence in Question of Sport.

I don't miss Q's absence in the slightest. Fine for the knockabout Bond films that we all used to know, but absolutely no place in the newer versions.

Q and the Bond's reliance on gadgets died with Desmond Llewellyn, God rest him.
