Okay there's this new advert on TV for dairy milk chocolate, in the ad there is a gorilla sitting at some drums listening to 'in the air tonight' by phil Collins. The gorilla then starts drumming to the beat of the song and thats it! WTF! what's it all mean? I'm well confused what has this got to do with choky

The gorilla is a fan of chocolate.. we used to be gorillas.. ergo we are fans of chocolate and Phil Collins is a secret chocolate assassin with a liscenscse to hypnotise drum playing gorillas into eating more chocolate.

The moral of the advert is, dont be a gorilla, eat some chocolate.

Thats how i took it at first glance anyway.

^Lmao! love it!

Reminds me of the 'This is Living' adverts.... Sony kinda forget to even mention their own name, utterly pointless stuff. Absolutely nobody understood it until they had to do some research, which is absolutely not how a product should be marketed!

I think the question here is not "Why is a gorilla in a chocolate advert?", but how Phil Collins has managed to scam yet more money from someone for his music!

I saw it and all I could think of was that they were using the Chewbacca defence to get them out of the salmonella mess of a few months back.

Why would a Wookiee, an eight-foot tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of two-foot tall Ewoks?

Why would a Gorilla, a 20 stone hairy Gorilla, want to play the drums to a Phil Collins song? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense!

Why do you need to get it? do you get abstract art?

I think it's stunning, great advertising, and has gotten everyone talking about it by being so simple and well done, much better than the totally stupidly random 3 adverts with the giant jellyfish of a few years back.

It does seem to have people talking about it so it is working to an extent. However, Cadburys Dairy Milk is nasty sickly sweet kiddie chocolate. Until they put that right they can waste as much money on adverts as they like it won't make me rush out any buy any.

/runs from the thread before the Dairy Milk lovers get here ;) :p

it's to show that if what we ended up with was Phil Collins then evolution messed up but at least chocolate makes you forget what a **** he is :p
