The new Foo Fighters album - tasters inside

To get me in the mood I've just listened to the first Foo Fighters album properly for the first time. I think I must have been just too young to appreciate it first time round, as I'm blown away by some of the tracks on there - 'Weenie Beenie', 'Good Grief' and 'Floaty' particularly. I'm now actually wondering if the news stuff sounds more like this than The Colour and the Shape.

I was crazy lucky, and I got to see them at one of their four 'quiet and private' shows they have been doing in LA for the past couple of weeks. I got to see them at the roxy, a week and a bit ago, which is like a 400 person venue, and it was madness. So I was lucky enough to listen to the whole album in full, and I have to say, its going to be an absolute corker! Definitely one of the better sounding albums they have put out of late.

It was great to see them in that environment and not in an arena, and doing what they do best, and they rocked it completely. They were on for close to two and a half hours, played the whole album first, then played a whole host of classics. How we got tickets ill never know...They announced it at 4pm, by 10 past 4 there were queues around the block, we were just down the street luckily on the other side of the sunset strip! Paid our $20, and came back later for the show. They did another did a whole list of intimate shows over one weekend, and everyone here was going crazy for it. I ended up stood with Lemmy a few to my right, and Ron Jeremy a few to my left haha! I even got a picture with the white limo from the video, as it was parked out side of the venue after they announced it.

So yes, all in all, Im pretty excited about the new album, which is the first time I have said that in a couple of years with the Foo's!

I could not be more jealous  :D

I've been a fan of Foo's since I first eagerly bought "this is a call" on CD single but to be fair I (like with many other bands who become a bit over saturated) have not really cared for much the Foo's have put out since 'the color and the shape' days. Once the media start ramming music down my throat I get turned off by it. I do always give the albums a spin though and I have to say that I'm really impressed with "White Limo" and if that's anything to go by, I'm gonna really like this album.

I've got to say I'm getting really excited about the new album from the various youtube clips I've watched.....it sounds EPIC! I really hope they come back and do an arena tour at the end of the year as I'm gutted I can't get to the MK Bowl gigs or any festivals this year :(

White Limo video is awesome!:D:p

Really looking forward to hearing the studio version :) The live version at the Roxy Sunset blew my head off :D (I only saw it on Youtube :p)

It really was amazing!

However, I still cant believe so many people were there filming everything. I mean, Im glad it got documented, but like..I'll never be at a Foo's show like that again, I wasnt going to waste my time faffing with a camera, just sat back and enjoyed the show!
