The other threads are a bit cramped now.

So I've played the 2 car games in question and yes they are different In style ect
but despite my inital decision that DiRT was pants and Forza ruled I've changed my mind.

Thats right. despite Initialy saying "What a load of plop" I've played about 5 hours of Dirt and I love It.

For me It's more fun and feels more involving (using the demo's to determin this).

So have you guys stuck to your initial decison or have you changed your mind?

what shall you be buying ?

PS- Please state your reasons for the purchase you have decided on.

I'm getting both as they are both very different games.

Saying that the demo for forza 2 is very poor compared to the final game, which is a shame as it may put people off buying it.

Ill be getting forza 2, from past experience Mc Rae games have been fun, but i never play them for long before leaving them to gather dust.

Well, first of all you can't base this decision on demos which do not necessarily represent the final product.

From the videos I've seen of the official released Forza 2, the physics are looking awesome and quite in involving. The tuning, setup and paint section of the game is enough to kill hours of your gaming time, never mind the actual racing. Yeah, the graphics aren't "killer", but as a package it's polished, fast and smooth and optimised very well.

The Colin McRae demo was a mixed bag. The handling was a bit arcade and there was little feedback between car and road. Yeah the damage is awesome and the reacting environments make a stunning experience, but it's about keeping the car on the road, not crashing. It felt more like air hockey with cars to me.

They are however two different games covering two aspects of motor sport. Owning and playing both games is the way forward for a rue motor sports fan, which no doubt will happen.

I found the DiRT demo a laff, but its lame multiplayer options mean I would probably lose interest after a short time. I might pick it up later on in the future when it comes down in price, but it aint worth 40 quid.

I'm getting both. I enjoyed both demo's, Dirt surprised me a bit, I hadn't payed much attention to it, but I really enjoyed the demo.

As for Forza 2, I was always going to get it, I admit that I found the demo a bit dissapointing though, I'm really hoping the full game will be better.

I cant say I was blown away by either demo,

Forza was just too hard, I dont mind games that are a challenge but when after 5 minutes I just cant be bothered even trying anymore I'm certainly not going to go out and splash £40 on it. Think ill have to wait till GT5 next year for my realistic racer.

Dirt was more fun for me which after playing Motorstorm is what I want, but it still didn't make me want to play it over and over again. But because it's a lot easier to get to grips with and the fact that I've got a collection of old games as long as my arm that I can trade in ill be getting this one

But i will say this, if FM had a rally mode, then i would maybe think twice about getting DiRT.

It'll be Forza 2 for me, loved the first one, tweaking the setup and then spending hours painting spongebob on the bonnet, taking the creation on line and people loving it.
