BENCHMARKS & OVERCLOCKING

BENCHMARKS...

overclocking the card using the drivers in the box.

we have a beta version of afterburner also which can be found on guru3d. this allows for voltage control.
i am so impressed with the capability of this card. same kind of noise levels as the 580. most impressive.
even when heavily clocked at the max i could get out of it, it wasnt going above 85'c
i cant wait to get one and slap a waterblock on it. at 2560X1600, there is no other option in my opinion.

testing conducted on a 2500K @ 4.4GHz with 4gb of 1600MHz memory using a Gigabyte P67 UD4 B3 motherboard.

my benchmarks for heaven/stbility testing were conducted using the Asus GTX 590. this was a full retail example that Gibbo was given to test on.
the thread with the full benchmark resulsts from a nice cross section of our users can be found here.

this will allow you to compare the scores easily.

only the most heavily overclocked 580/480 setups are pulling away on it.

I think the results speak for themselves.
clocking progress included:

612MHz - 700MHz

612MHz - 750MHz

Vantage Results.
bear in mind this score was achieved using a quad core with no HT at a measly 4.4GHz

£614.99 for the MSI card, can see some of the brands being sub £600 before long then to put them at a similar price to 570 SLI.

The shape of the fan shroud and size of the fan look exactly the same as my old 295 GTX. Obviously the vapour chamber stuff is all new though.

How do they stack up running F@H?

havent had a chance to crunch on one yet

early estimates are around the same as a pair of 580s but with a little less power consumption.

i will try to get one on test this week for the distributed computing section :)

Thanks RJK, Biffa has just posted stating 13.5k ppd per core so 27k per card.

A dedicated cruncher with 4 would set you back the same as an SR-2 but with twice the power consumption and half the PPD.

It's slower than the 6990, but runs cooler/quiter. Also these look like they can run sandwiched together quite well.

New king my butt cheek. I was expecting this card to blow away the competition but it seems as if it got some terrorist training in blowing itself up before it was launched.

Would rather buy another MSI GTX 580 OC if OcUK had it in stock and run SLi.
