Limited stock in initial waves + demand from early adopters = charge what you want.

Fact is stock will run dry in all likeliness so count your lucky stars (should you want one) that the prices are reasonable, period.

Reviews up on guru3d.

I'm pleasantly surprised with it. Power consumption is only about 60-70 watts more than my 580 at full load.

I can laugh now at all the fanboys who said it would be crazy loud and produce ridiculous amounts of heat as it is actually very good on both those parts. It's cooler than the 6990 and much quieter under load.

Just a shame about the price but I did expect it :)

^^^
TBH, I expected it to be faster than a 6990 though...

True, the performance is a bit depressing and unlike the 570/580 there isn't much room for overclocking.

Both the 6990 and the 590 have their drawbacks, and with the 480/6950 so cheap, you'd be better served getting one of those multi gpu setups instead.

this card has apparrent pro's and cons to the 6990, though if I were inclined to chose i'd get the 6990 and stick it under water. IMO massively improved crossfire scaling is nvidia's deadly enemy
