Nope its completely stock, and im following the instructions from Modaco here http://android.modaco.com/topic/337798-gen1-to-gen2-tpt-upgrade/

Never done the Gen 2 conversion but I'm sure you'll need to root your phone then install Clockwork Mod first.

Edit: Just read it's an all in one which includes CWM. I'm confused.

YUp exactly its supposed to be a do it all solution... I just cant seem to boot into the friggen recovery mode to do it!

Guys still having this issue... can someone with a stock phone please try getting into recovery mode for me and letting me know how they do it, if it all different to what I was trying?

Stock phone doesn't have a recovery mode as far as I know

Hi guys, my missus is with Orange and she dropped her HTC Desire yesterday and it has smashed. Silly ting did not have it insured either, even though she gets free insurance with her bank.

Anyway, she needs a cheap replacement as she is self-employed and needs to check her emails and diary all day. Is this still the best phone for the money?

Where would the best place be to pick up just a handset?

I would say the market is a lot more crowded these days, however the San Fran has the best screen for the price. Not even half as well made as the Desire though...and quite a bit slower

So I managed to quite severely crack the top of my screen, luckily not in the visible area yet but will definitely spread with continued use, any recommendations for a case / protective something? I heard good things about the 'gel' cases?

You heard right! I scouted eBay and bought a cheap black one - it does the job!

Mine just isn't holding any charge at all, even powered via the plug it doesn't seem to be starting up. I assume we can't take these into Orange shops to be repaired under warranty if bought over the phone?

Mine had an issue, where it wouldnt charge half the time and when it did the battery drained really fast, turned out to be the wall charger has broke and wouldnt charge the phone properly anymore, have since been charging it via USB from my laptop and it has been fine since.

So give USB charging a go.

probably got the best screen of budget handsets, but it appears it's now £120 with top-up
