Earlier in the thread MB said not before 5 pm cos he's going to be spending some quiet time with his folks before the insane partying begins. I haven't seen anything else about that so I assume it's still the case.

I will understand if people show up earlier and you can come in and pitch your tents but don't expect me to entertain you :p

Its almost time to start the long and tenious journey to Wales :(

Luckily I purchased every Hitchhikers guide (original radio plays) on CD including the new ones, so I'll be happy on the way down :)

No major roadworks on the M25 South, M4 or the later part of the journey, not that slowed us down. Whole journey took about 5 hours with 1 stop for food.

Just got to work out a plan for getting 30 odd cars in the driveway and finding some way of marking the turning so people can find it, its one of those concealed turnings that you drive straight past in one direction but can see coming the other way (the way no one will be coming)

I think this is the best idea really and H is happy to do the organisation for it (which I was pretty hesitant about getting into) :o

I understand that for some people an extra £20 might be a bit prohibative especially as people are traveling so far to come. If you feel awkward about this don't, just speak to me on the day and we'll sort something out.

This £20 should go quite a long way and hopefully as H says you won't have to get involved in a supermarket sweep or have to worry about organising any meals for youselves, unless your Otacon who eats 12 meals a day minimum.

Right:

There are no showers

I have just tasted the first batch of 'Chilli' which is mild to say the least, Dad has also made what cannot be described as chilli and is basically a bolognaise with some kidney beans in it which tastes exactly like bolognise, so if people can eat spag bol they can eat this. No need to be cooking different things or bringing extra stuff. There is a veggie chilli for protein dodgers and baked potatoes, unless you are VERY fussy you will be OK. Please at least try the non chilli - chilli if you don't like hot things, you will be fine.

There will be a batch which he is doing at the moment which will be hotter plus I'm trying to get the medium spiced up as it is currently very mild. These can be mixed to any combination so you should be able to produce something to suit.

Meat has been ordered for saturday and will be collected on the day.

Parking will be a slight nightmare but we will get it sorted as people arive. Please be patient, we will fit you in somewhere. Tiggy there is a space reserved for you where you will be able to get out without anyone having to move a car so you will be OK day and night should you need to excape (this service isn't being extended any further so anyone but Tiggy, don't bother asking).

It pee'd down with rain this afternoon so the ground is soft but the forcast for the next few days is good.

Once you have arrived H will move among you asking for your kitty money, please either volunteer it or wait to be asked, shes an accountant and shes paid for everything on her credit card so debits will be called in.

Have good journeys tomorrow and don't forget the speed cameras,
See you tomorrow

Saying that there are no showers, actually there is a hose!

Gilly: if you ask you maybe able to blag a shower at the campsite but as no one is staying there you might have to offer them some cash, I haven't enquired.

No problem :) Thanks for the reply x

Coure you can come silly, I'm suprised you felt the need to ask :)

We've lost a couple of people so I am happy for an extra 1 or 2 to come along as long as they are 'known'

Hope the answer isn't too late, I was in bed by 10 last night, the air here is pretty clean and drink 6-8 cans of cider a day really saps you energy :)

I now have a very busy day ahead sorting various little things out like putting the sign up opposite the entrace, moving the family cars, organising car parking as people show up (BE PATIENT IF YOU HAVE TO WAIT TO GET PARKED).

Need to finish off the Chilli do the veggie chilli, go to the supermarket and get bread and for the BBQ, move stuff out of the driveway to maximise space, put our tent up and other general stuff.

Hope you all have nice journeys, the weather forcast is for fine weather all weekend (with the odd very occational shower).

I am currently poncho-less too, I just havnt had the time to go out and find one. Work have been exceptionally low on staff and I have been the one getting bummed for it :(

I shall be going to get the second lot of plates and stuff in a little bit and then popping to Asda to get some food :D

Wild Lotus: I will just give you the reciepts and stuff and you can work out whatever you need to work out from that :)

One more poncho coming up- I am becoming an expert poncho maker now. This is my limit now as no more fabric (unless I shear a sheep and spin the wool).

Good work on the receipts- it takes me back to my bookkeeping days :)

I wish I had had more then 4 hours sleep last night :(

I'll post something coherent later but thanks to everyone who came along and made the weekend such a success, H and I really enjoyed it and so did Ma and Dad who where very pleased with their prezzies and say thank you again.

I was a pretty easy meet for me as my wonderfull wife did a lot of the organising so kudos to H especially for sorting out the kitty :)

We had some money left over from the Kitty (about £80) which is going to a charity which Ma and Dad chose, a cancer research foundation in memory of one of our family friends who died recently at a very young age, which was topped up by the generous donations from the prezzie fund.

Quite a rounded weekend and some good events to break up the drinking :)
We especially loved the Crystal Maze attraction at Oakwood, so much in fact that we went back again the next day :D

The beach was cool and we couldn't have hoped for better weather, even though Jilly thought it was too hot (he does live in the artic circle though).

Kudos to Andy100, Freetrog, Archetypeal Metrosexual and H for going swimming in the frezzing water and Druz for getting it up and playing with it whilst we all watched.

Thanks to Big Stan who must have made pretty much the biggest commitment of any meet go'er, ever (until Dutch Guy or one of our foreign friends shows up at a do) to come down from Scotland on the plane and spend nights in hotels either side of the weekend to be here.

The good news (if you enjoyed it) is Ma and Dad say you can comeback next year :)
