The Official 2010 Ryder Cup Thread **Spoilers**

David Beckham is at the Ryder cup.... how do I do know... My friend had a room booked at the Celtic Manor, some one rang him up to see if he would give his room up for 10 grand, he said no, they then offered 75 grand, he said yes..lol.

Its funny that I've heard this from about 3 different people about it being their 'mate'.

Sure you didn't just read it in the paper like everyone else?:p

It's all over for the day:

L Westwood/M Kaymer 1 up v P Mickelson/D Johnson (12 holes)
R McIlroy/G McDowell v S Cink/M Kuchar 2 up(11 holes)
I Poulter/R Fisher all square S Stricker/T Woods (10 holes)
L Donald/P Harrington v B Watson/J Overton 1 up (8 holes)

I've always been a great fan of Nick Faldo, difficult guy to like but this little paragraph from the Guardian sums up Nick quite well.

"The answer, of course, lies in the competing interests and the Byzantine politics of golf's varying governing bodies, in money and in the demands of the TV companies – an almighty mess, indeed, from which no one emerges with their reputation intact except perhaps Nick Faldo, who infamously concluded his captaincy of the European team in Kentucky two years ago by telling the world: "See you in Wales. Bring your waterproofs." Bullseye, Sir Nick."

Nick Faldo's quote on the closing ceremony in 2008 went down like a lead balloon but it was spot on.

Here's hoping for a full day of Golf later but the forecast for Sunday looks equally as bad as Friday.

I'm glad this Ryder cup is in Wales but it should have been played three weeks ago, it would have been fantastic, in years to come it will be remembered as a farce and will damage Welsh Golf for years to come.

"See you in Wales. Bring your waterproofs."

Hardly Nostradamus is he? :p

Anyway, that guy will go down as probably the worst Ryder Cup captain ever. A dislikeable self absorbed man if ever there was one.

Looking forward to today. Good fightback from the US yesterday. I think officials have done the right thing in changing the format to speed things up. All players will now play some part before the singles tomorrow.

Watson/Overton have won their match 3&2.

Stricker/Woods have won their match by 1 hole.

So the score after the fourballs is EUROPE 1½ -2½ USA

Here are the pairings and order for the foursomes:

Edoardo and Francesco Molinari v Zach Johnson/Hunter Mahan

Lee Westwood/Martin Kaymer v Jim Furyk/Rickie Fowler

Miguel Angel Jimenez/Peter Hanson v Tiger Woods/Steve Stricker

Padraig Harrington/Ross Fisher v Phil Mickelson/Dustin Johnson

Ian Poulter/Luke Donald v Bubba Watson/Jeff Overton

Graeme McDowell/Rory McIlroy v Stewart Cink/Matt Kuchar

Great putt by Rory at 17 to get Europe out a squeeze there, could have been a lot worse at this stage if that hadn't gone in.

Harrington has been absolutely dire so far.... he needs to pull his finger out!

Edoardo and Francesco Molinari v Zach Johnson/Hunter Mahan won 2UP

Padraig Harrington/Ross Fisher v Phil Mickelson/Dustin Johnson won 3&2

Miguel Angel Jimenez/Peter Hanson v Tiger Woods/Steve Stricker won 4&3

Latest score is EUROPE 2½ -4½ USA

Lee Westwood/Martin Kaymer v Jim Furyk/Rickie Fowler match halved

Ian Poulter/Luke Donald v Bubba Watson/Jeff Overton won 2&1

Latest score is EUROPE 4 -5 USA

Graeme McDowell/Rory McIlroy v Stewart Cink/Matt Kuchar won 2UP

Latest score is EUROPE 4 -6 USA
