*** The official 2025 MacBook Air 13" and 15" thread (it has the M4 chip and everything!) ***

I have two displaylink docks, no issues with my M1 MBA and M2 Mac Mini.
Thanks mate, I think its worth a try at least.

For those considering ordering. KRCS are doing deals on them, its even better than Apple edu discount.

I am torn between 13" 512gb storage or 15" 256gb storage, both £1079.10 at KRCS

Looking at getting an iPad also and the £180 for the storage increase on the 15" just has the price creeping up where I dont want it!

I practically use no local storage so im convincing myself 256gb will be enough but I wonder if ill regret it later down the line. But will I also get a 13 and wish I got the extra screen estate for not much footprint increase.

Have you tried the 13 vs 15 in person? I got the 13 as the 15 seems massive for me. The extra screen space would be great as I use photoshop/illustrator but it just seemed too big in comparison to the 13

I haven't, going to try get to Apple store this week. Im rocking a 2017 13.3 so been used to this size for a while :D

My usage is browsing and Football Manager, will also use it for WFH when it allows (with a dock etc of course).

My work will reimburse me £700 so thats why i was going to treat myself to an Air.

I’d definitely see it in person. I went today just to check before buying and knew straight away the 15 was too big. My main use is doing a bit of work before/after my son is home from nursery so I move about a lot. The 13 is way more portable if you aren’t using it on a desk!

I definitely will do. Its going to be my main sofa machine, if i use it on a desk its in a dock and im using external monitor and keyboard mouse. Ive got some travel up coming so a 13" probably a bit better for that.

Been playing with the 15" M4 MacBook Air all eve, got it earlier this afternoon.

At first, I was worried I had screwed up getting the 15 version as it seemed huge. But I've adjusted and am loving the screen size. Feels like working on a desktop size display with lots of real estate for tabs and things like pip from YouTube vids (great feature of Sequoia).

I bought an iPad Pro the other month and am now wondering if I'll ever use it. I suppose the sidecar / universal control stuff might be good to play with.

I think 15 is worth it for the larger speakers and trackpad too. It still seems portable and light. But I am coming from a 2012 MacBook Air which was 13 but had huge bezels and weighs about the same as this.

My iPad Pro gets used mostly for sidecar/youtube whilst working. Sidecar is mega handy and works very well for me. Probably didn’t need the pro though!

Amazing price from KRCS, especially during launch week! I’d personally be buying from Costco instead for their 2 year warranty (£949), but there’s no arguing that £899 for a base 13” isn’t a great deal.

Thanks for posting your thoughts. I am really torn. Going to get to a store today and try it hopefully.

Great shout for Costco. Sadly I don't have a membership but the £40 extra for two years warranty is great value. I was going to buy AppleCare, how does Costco warranty hold up. Alternatively, I can get some additional warranty if I purchase on my HSBC credit card.

Ok, went to Apple.

Damn, the 15" feels like twice the size. Difficult to really judge when it's just on a table. Id like to pick it up and sit down with it etc.

The extra screen estate is nice but I didn't like that the wrist area etc felt so empty. I know others will prefer that over a cramped setup but yeah.

I think that because it's a sofa machine whilst portable and docked whilst on my desk. I don't need the 15".

The blue colour was nice but I'd of preferred it closer to the blue of the new iPad (side note, why don't they all match! iPhone inc.)

I liked the black, very sleek.

Picked up one today from the local Apple Store, went for a 13" 16gb/512gb in sky blue.

It's to replace an old 2017 MacBook Pro (Touch Bar) which has had a few problems recently. Liking how light it feels and the keyboard is so much nicer but other than that its not blowing me away at the mo; hopefully it will grow on me.

Performance should be on a completely different level though, it will destroy that old Intel one.

For those still looking. EE are doing a deal, now the lowest price I can find. Code: SMSSAVE5.

Getting very close to pulling the trigger now.

Just set up my 15 M4 Air on my desk, so impressed. It works with my old Logitech MK710 keyboard/mouse using the USB dongle. Clamshell mode on so it displays on my 4k monitor. Then using universal control to control it alongside my iPad Pro with the mouse and keyboard. Incredible experience.

All I wish now is this would be a full gaming laptop too. It does seem the M4 with the 10core GPU could play a lot of stuff very well though. Plan to try it.
