*** The official 2025 MacBook Air 13" and 15" thread (it has the M4 chip and everything!) ***

All set up now, it's very VERY close in size to my old 2018 MBP

What’s the keyboard? I like that

I weighed the MBA - 1230g, 1.23kg.
M1 iPad Air with Magic Keyboard, 1067g, 1.067kg.

Difference of 163g. Tiny, considering the MBA is 13.6" and the iPad Air is 10.9".

Getting my 15" tomorrow. Going to get a pouch/outer case for it just to keep it from clashing with the other two laptops I carry about.

Seen warnings about screen protectors etc so won't be bothering. Most I might do is use a keyboard protector and remember to remove it before I close the lid.

I got a tomtoc sleeve. Well padded and about £25. Nice material with pocket on the outside for cables and a small nvme drive. I would slip in charger had it not for a UK plug being massive. But I also don’t want a single pressure point on the outside in case of it being squashed in a bag.

Yeah that's literally all I want cheers. I've got a multi port charger thing I carry around to save having multiple but keep that in my normal rucksack.
I don't really have any need to take this out and about outside of work once a week, and that's just for lunchtimes etc.

This is the one I have, they have others without the added pouch, which tbh, no idea where i put mine. Think they do one for £20 without the pouch.

I’ve got that tomtoc Pouch as well. It’s pretty good for the money tbh

If I could justify the extra money I’d get a Bellroy desk one that stands up right but it’s not worth the 3x the cost.

Casey thing arriving tomorrow. I won't be changing to iPhone, no need and I like my Pixels but now I can be one of those "I can't be ...techist?, I have a Macbook and an Android phone".

Skimmed some stock profits and treated the missis to a Mac Air 15” base model. Been nagging about her iPad Pro being too limiting for ages.

Doesn’t feel like a depreciating asset like a lot of tech buys! These M4 airs are the business and will be good for a looong time.

Bought myself 13-MBA over the weekend. any sugestions on sleeves or carry case/bag?
Somthing slim, that can also fit the charger

I have a Tomtoc one, there is a side pocket where i fitted in 2 USB-C cables, the Magsafe charger cable, a USB hub/SSD enclosure with 1TB and a Magic mouse.

Not a charger though, the UK one is too big. should be able to fit a US one but not the G plug.

Unless it is one of these but I wouldn't use that on a Macbook.

You need 29w to charge that, so I’d go for this foldable anker.

UK plugs while being the GOAT plugs aren’t great for traveling with!

I am actually thinking of thise one for travel. Especially for Japan, since Japan uses the 2 pin.

But I already have this one below.

I’m debating whether to go for the M4 Air now with 24\512 or wait for the M5.

I’m still using my 2014 Air and it will be sad to close it down for the last time as it’s been brilliant but the time is coming.

Even an M1 would be a staggering increase in performance from a 2014 MacBook Air, the M4 is only eight months old, if you need it, buy it and don't wait.

This is the best advice, I would excluded a new IPhone from this as they 100% known when they are coming.
