Here's me wanting to build a new PC purely to play this but all the negative is really worrying! Might give it a while before I commit to such expense.

To play this POS, you gotta be mad mate. Battlefield gets further and further away from what made BF so great 10 years ago, its no longer a BF game, it's a generic ZOMG slide cancel shooter for the kiddies made by people that have no idea what a BF title should be anymore. We all thought BF1 was bad, we all then thought BFV was even worse, now this car crash POS gets released....Battlefield is finished.

This is actually a nice feature which prevents you from playing this awful game.

I honestly thought that was photoshoped, till I saw all the hate on Reddit.

Patched, loaded, now i cant look left / right. Can look up and down with the mouse but not left / right. Reset all bindings no difference.
Great success!
So to sort the mouse thingy

I worked out that if you clear the mouse movement bind (which doesn't clear anything) the mouse starts working again.

Restore default settings by removing "PROFSAVE" files in My Documents > Battlefield 2042 > Settings to keep playing

You're not missing anything, just a game that has a massive identity crisis taking elements from everything and slapping "battlefield" on the box.

What exactly is the tone of this game meant to be? The world's meant to be going gown the crapper setting a darker tone, yet characters are making sad little quips, we have a trailer where it's apparently an amazing time to be alive, and now we're getting skins to make the game even more of an embarrassment to the Battlefield name.

There must have been a copious amount of crack snorted when this pos was being developed before it was booted out the door broken

There's one for the littlebird as well...

Theyre probably not done, Christmas eve will probably trigger a hidden feature where everyone turns into a snowman and you fire snowballs from your weapon.

Apparently these skins were in a qa session back in March and they were all voted down, yet still make it into the game. Good to see they listen to feedback..

My personal opinion is that Dice have been totally messed up by EA and they're just doing as they're told and getting paid and not really showing any care and attention.

I really don't like to brag or whatever, but I used to work for Riot and I did a lot of work on Valorant and League of Legends. Whether you like those games or not - I can tell you first hand, that everybody at Riot played the **** out of those games. Everybody got invited to playtests, had meaningful input - tested them to death, literally lived and breathed the games, from top to bottom and loved it. They also listened like hell, to what the community wanted.

With Battlefield - it now just feels like people who don't really know anything are just imposing their rubbish ideas (like 128 players, specialists as opposed to classes, cringe-worthy voice lines etc), that nobody with any sense would even dare to mention during a design phase.

Like you say, the game has a massive identity crisis. I used to love the feel of the US military going up against Russia, or the UK going up against Germany or whatever, it gave the whole game a serious 'battlefield vibe' that's hard to explain.

Now we have a bunch of woke, cringe, zoomer like characters borderline floss-dancing at the end of each map, it's gross.... Nobody ever wanted it.
