Massively. If you're a belt holder you should be forced to do at least a mandatory and a voluntary agaisnt a top 10 opponent a year. 2 as an absolute minimum.

I'm also of the opinion that we should rate the IBF belt above the WBC. It wont happen as the WBC has the prestige and history but Mauricio Sulaiman is such a slime-ball of a character. They'll make a pointless trinket for any event just to get some money, they allow champions like Charlo to go almost 2 years without defending his belt or not calling a heavyweight mandatory... Hell, how have they let Ruiz jr and Wilder pretend to negotiate for a final eliminator for a year. They should've given them a few weeks/months and if not, pick the 3rd and 4th ranked fighters.

The IBF don't mess around with their mandatories. Fight it or vacate.

And in the first case of "The IBF Don't Play"...

Terence Crawford, ESPN's No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer, is no longer the undisputed welterweight champion after he was stripped of the IBF title, according to the organization's updated rankings at 147 pounds.

Jaron "Boots" Ennis was elevated from interim titleholder to IBF welterweight champion.

The Sauce

I expect this will mean that Crawford intends for the rematch to be at 154. May as well move on from 147.

It's about time all these big fights started happening again, it's just a shame it's taken massive amounts of money rather than sporting desire to be the best to make it happen

It's all Floyd's fault. They saw the big bucks he was earning and how valuable he made the 0.Issue is these other fighters are not putting in the work that Floyd did or Canelo is doing now. I'm all for fighters getting life changing sums of money but even the ones who are 'not him' are acting like they wont fight for less than £10m.

Anyway, whether or not it's the right reasons for them getting into it, Saudi's are saving boxing at the moment. Though it wont last forever and I feel when they fancy spending money elsewhere, fighters will still be thinking they can get these bonkers paydays

A date is agreed upon. Here we go!

Even after that utter humiliation Fury has recently gone through and with his reputation in tatters I still think on sheer size alone he is probably still a favourite but I am backing Usyk to get it done. Small, mobile fights have always caused Fury problems to think about and none of them have been as skilled as Usyk and he no longer has the legs he once possessed (I've been saying this since the 2nd and 3rd Wilder fights. Not a knee jerk reaction to FN) so unless he can utilise leaning on Usyk it's going to be a long evening for Luke.

If he wins I'll begrudgingly give him his flowers.

The Fury that turns up for that will be a different beast to the one who fought the other week, he’ll actually be focused and motivated.

Having said that I agree he’s on the decline big time so Usyk is more than capable of beating him.

He better take it seriously because after that last showing he needs to put on a spectacular showing.
I'll say it before anyone else does just to get it out the way...

"believe it when I see it"

I'd say I would only believe it once the referee is giving them their instructions in the ring but....

Apparently a presser for this Saudi event is happening around 2-3pm.

Forget all the fights. Hearn vs Warren at the table is the fight we want to see.

Wilder VS Parker and AJ VS Wallin

Seems like fairly easy fights for Wilder and AJ to win and then announce they will fight Mid 2024

Fury will lose to Usyk and i cant wait to see it
