I don't think wizards spawned on the older version did it? Also enjoyed doing the bridge part legit to, loved having a sword to have a bit of fun with :D
 
I loved that part! So much better than the bridge section of old (despite the changes again only being subtle).

Ir Yut challenge seems straight forward enough.

- Kill all adds
- Kill Wizards & shriekers
- Kill yellow bar knights that appear by Ir Yut (A message will pop saying she is fearful or something like that)
- Kill Knights and Ogre which spawns where Crota is normally
- Kill swordbearer and use its sword to kill Ir Yut

All in under 2:30....

Basically all equip swords and go mental :D
 
I was well and truly sucked back in last night.

Popped on about 9.30pm to have a quick look at what they'd added and ended up playing until 2am.

I see the new record book requires a trip to the lighthouse to complete so no 100% for me then. :(

Luckily you don't have to go to lighthouse to complete the ToO page or the book. The page only requires 6/7 or 7/8 completions to "complete". :)
 
What's the script with drops now?

I noticed that blues were capping out at 385 and purples were going higher but I can't find a definitive explanation of what's going on.
 
Managed 2 full runs last night including one Challenge mode completion of Crota.

Some tips for Crota or more specifically how our group did the challenge mode:

Setup:

We had 2 Titans, 2 Hunters and 2 Warlocks (never actually noticed that until I typed it out!)

  • The 2 Hunters are Gunslinger Class and have Golden Gun and are wearing Celestial Nighthawk.
  • The 2 Warlocks Are Sunsinger Class and have Radiance.
  • The 2 Titans are Defender Class.

Method:

  • Select three fireteam members whom are to be the sword runners and organise a running order.
  • One of the Warlocks should have Super ready.
  • Kill all Acolytes upon summoning Crota but leave the yellow bar knights at low health.
  • Warlock pops Radiance and shoots remaining knights to drop orbs.
  • Other fireteam members either have super ready now or pick up orbs to charge super.
  • Run to right hand door and run out as a unit towards the sync plate on the left hand side of the door.
  • All fireteam members help to down the Swordbearer Knight.
  • Titan Pops bubble.
  • Sword runner 1 collects Chalice and Sword then sword runner 1 makes way to rock on the right hand side of Crota, once in place and ready informs other players.
  • Other players fire rockets/snipe Crota, while this is happening sword runner 1 runs towards Crota and should reach him as he kneels.
  • 3 Slams with R2 and run back to rock.
  • Down Crota again.
  • 3 Slams with R2.
  • Wait until the very last minute, one of the Hunters pull Golden Gun and one shot the Oversoul.
  • All return back to back to the Oversoul Throne Room and pass Chalice around like a cheap hooker.
  • Collect Orbs if required to build Super.
  • Sowrd runner 2 collects Chalice.
  • When Crota starts to move rRun to right hand door and run out as a unit towards the sync plate on the left hand side of the door.
  • All fireteam members help to down the Swordbearer Knight.
  • Titan Pops bubble.
  • Sword runner 2 collects Sword makes way to rock on the right hand side of Crota, once in place and ready informs other players.
  • Other players fire rockets/snipe Crota, while this is happening sword runner 2 runs towards Crota and should reach him as he kneels.
  • 3 Slams with R2 and run back to rock.
  • Down Crota again.
  • 3 Slams with R2.
  • Wait until the very last minute, one of the Hunters pull Golden Gun and one shot the Oversoul.
  • Make way to the bottom room on the right hand side of Crota and climb on top of doors.
  • Wait for then Kill the Ogre that spawns.
  • Slay the ogre that spawns opposite with Snipers and Rockets.
  • All return back to back to the Oversoul Throne Room and pass Chalice around like a cheap hooker.
  • Collect Orbs if required to build Super.
  • Sword runner 3 collects Chalice.
  • When Crota starts to move run to right hand door and run out as a unit towards the sync plate on the left hand side of the door.
  • All fireteam members help to down the Swordbearer Knight.
  • Titan Pops bubble.
  • Sword runner 3 collects Sword then sword runner 3 makes way to rock on the right hand side of Crota, once in place and ready informs other players.
  • Other players fire rockets/snipe Crota, while this is happening sword runner 3 runs towards Crota and should reach him as he kneels.
  • 3 Slams with R2 and Crota will Enrage
  • Down Crota again.
  • 3/4 Slams with R2.
  • All dance and examine sweet loot drops.

Repeat two more times for other characters.

Wrapped this in spoiler tags to avoid enraging mods, also checked for swearing, as people know I swear A LOT and this sometimes carries into text.

Quite a list but that is EXACTLY how we did it.

I have a video of it which I may put up on YouTube if people are interested.

I like the strat you run, nice and straight forward. You can always have a couple of Sleepers instead of a golden gun if that isn't working (for whatever reason).

Is it 18 hits to kill him then? I have read on reddit that he can be done in 12 but perhaps this requires WoL?!
 
From what I gather it is about 18.. at least we tried to get 3 hits per time.

Golden Gun will work 100% of the time with Nighthawk.

I'll pop the vid up tonight if I can get the TV for long enough to edit and upload it.

I'd play the nightfall and raids for 400 drops then play heroic strikes to acquire decent weapons, potentially POE now it has a weekly 390 variaition.

Then infuse the drops from the raid and NF/POE into a weapon you like.

You could also farm legendary marks and buy a vendor weapon from the tower then infuse that.

Patrik Casey has a decent video on YouTube which covers the Vendor weapon rolls.

I believe there is a node in the class layout that makes your golden gun shot more powerful also, it actually states that in the description.

Raids are difficult for me to do unfortunately due to little one and no garuntee times I'm on :( I do have 130 legendary marks built up currently however

Yeah I appreciate that it's sometimes difficult.. but even a partial to get to an exotic chest will reap a 400 light drop if you're lucky enough!

Reddit Fireteams is a godsend for solo players.. when almost all my friend list stopped dead I had to turn here for help and its an absolute godsend.. great people too 80% of the time.

Aye what's your I'd? I'd just wouldn't want to **** people off if I had to bolt, my son usual is okayish at sleeping but has been I'll recently. I've never even done a nightfall strike either so would like to, I'm 350 light atm so too low atm. I have Siva key too but I assume I can only use that in rise of iron raid? No other way around it?
