*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Basically bring your sniper game and everything is good. :)

If you have Touch of Malice infuse that piece of crap awesome weapon up to 400 for the Daughters / Oryx fight.

JP - You will be fine bud. :) As said it is a sniper bias raid from a boss point of view (think WoTM). Totems is a relay race as is the Golgy challenge.

Mach - No worries :) You missed out on Davie getting the Vex from Atheon.... *grumble grumble* :p

Trust Davie getting that!!! :P Next time VoG is the featured raid I'm joining in at the Atheon fight :D

Sorry I had to bail so quickly last night (well this morning).

I got the sodding auto rifle..... with arc damage, eurgh. I will give it a go but I am struggling to think when I would ever actually use it. For Arc burn strikes etc I have either; Zhalo, Necrochasm or Fatebringer...

Ah well.

Did anyone get Smite?

I got Smite.. I thought it was a scout but it's a pulse.

Tried it in the nightfall. Not that hot tbh.. although it wasn't fully upgraded.. I'm suffering from severe glimmer withdrawal due to all the ships, sparrows and shaders I need to buy...

I'm up for a Friday completion if it's on, plus I wanna batter IB one night over the weekend.. unsure of when.. I'll see who is on at the time :)

Could any one meet at 8 to do kings fall raid? Never done it and only says it's 260 light, I'm light level 363 so should be easy to do. We could then move onto some iron banner? I have terrible terrible did I mention terrible jumping skills in this game though :p

3hrs doing normal kings fall raid got to Oryx and couldn't do it:( gave up was with people not played with before and they kept changing so may of played a part. However the platform and how if you miss wipes you and it's fail is such a cheap mechanic :(

King's Fall is very unforgiving once you hit the daughters & Oryx fight as its pure mechanics based (DPS shouldn't be a problem). You can kind of work with it on Oryx as you just have your best / most confident "jumper" go for the brand. Everyone has to do their job though or it is a wipe (it can be recovered but normally it is just easier to wipe).

It doesn't help that the raid itself is so long.

Kings fall is brutal.. but I love it for that.

Raids are supposed to be THE end game content.. they are supposed to be insane.

I remember chatting with Moon a while back about Molten Core on WoW.. that raid took like 40 days until it was finally cleared for the first time.

3 hours for a first playthrough seems good tbh.. I wouldn't be too hard on yourself or the group.. it's a challenging experience :)

I agree with the general consensus, kf is unforgiving, luckily for me I had the original A team raiding group help me.
Not my fave raid unlike VoG but I'll be on this weekend if there is a raid going not really

Yeah King's Fall is tough, particularly Oryx. Even with a group of regulars that all know their jobs it can take wipe after wipe until it all clicks. Aksis is pretty similar in that regard, one person makes one little mistake (missing a jump, getting smacked by a heavy shot from somewhere), and it's a wipe.

Any chance you guys can help me finish the final part? apparently i should start there when i go back to it, I ask as was nice playing with you guys before and well i know you have done it multiple times. One guy was french last night and he took 10mins to decode what we said (i know not his fault) so made it even longer.

The sisters took us 1hr 30mins to clear.

I can probably be on at 8ish tonight to help out. :)

Happy to be brand runner.

Alternatively we could blast through some strikes etc to get your light level up and then run through VoG / CE / WoTM.

What light level are you?

A titan should always be the jumper IMO. It's the best jump for that raid mechanic plus it's the fastest. Warlock is too slow. Hunter jump IMO is awful for it. IMO it's the easiest part of that raid being the jumper. I don't know why so many people cannot do it. All your doing is jumping from 1 platform to the next and the platforms are HUGE, the guys on the ground have a much harder job to do. I'd much rather be the jumper. I would always do it on my titan, then let others do it when I'm on my hunter/warlock, you need to learn every part of the raid. I hate people who always pick the easiest or same jobs every time;

I'll take left on WOTM
Never using the relic
Never going in the portals
Using self res over stormcaller

The only way your going to be a good raider is if you know every job and put yourself into the tougher positions. The only job I cannot do in any raid is use the sword on crota, but that is because I've never really tried and didn't want to learn and waste everyone's time so let an experienced person run it to make it a quick run. The only part that messed me over when I tried it once was after getting the initial hits on him I panicked getting rid of the sword to blink strike him to go invis. I reckon with practice I would have it nailed but I've never had the opportunity to be able to spend time practicing it. That is essentially what raiding comes down to practice. Once you have done VOG week in week out for 3 months on every character you should be able to do it in under an hour. Kings fall again when it first came out took raiding over 2 different nights (6 hours) to complete within 3 months could do it in 45 minutes start to finish with the right group.

Challenge mode however is a different beast altogether you need a bit of luck on your side as well as a competent group or the right strat for the group, what works for 1 group won't work for all groups. Have 1 person not doing something right and it's a wipe.

You can't expect someone new to be able to learn a full raid in 1 night and you can't just give them the easy jobs to do either as they will never learn the raid that way and expect to be carried every time.
