*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

I wasn't a big Halo fan, but this is just a poor Halo. I'd much rather play another Halo game. Far too many similarities tbh

Agree with this, enemies and weapons are too similar. Drop ships look like Covenant ships and replicas of Needler gun is in there too.

MS could probably take Bungie to court for ripping off a frachise owned by MS :p

It is everything Halo is but nowhere near enjoyable.

I'll still play it though :)

Yeah and even the Ghost thing is just the Guilty Spark and the music is pretty much the Halo soundtrack.

Went back on it tonight, enjoyed it a bit more, had some epic battles with them three witches !!

Got some better gear and new gun to test tomorrow.

I really hope they release more content asap !!

I've redeemed the Vanguard code, where and when can I get the Armour and ships ?

I just did the beginning and is at the city now but I don't see the Vanguard ships in the options.

How do i get Vanguard Rank 1? for emblems etc? Do i need the Vanguard edition? i had pre ordered my game but got no code inside or anything ordered from Tesco.

Ship is from the person immediately to your left and forwards as you spawn (one of those two, can't remember which) Vanguard edition items are from the vanguard quartermaster (near the ship guy in the area to the right as you spawn)

Nope, you need to complete bounties, strike playlists and patrol missions.

No they aren't.

Quite a few on the last 2 pages.... (apologies for multiquotage).
Admittedly some users posted more than once though :D

but I even found the Beta really rinse repeat, I think this game only worked off the back of Halo and Bungie, but even with the hype I didn't get drawn in..and I usually do.

but I'd watched some vids the night before and wasn't totally convinced so decided to wait awhile

even less convinced now :( I was really really looking forward to it too - really enjoyed Halo etc

Same I'm on the fence, beta didn't wow me like I hoped, don't wanna buy into the hype like infamous and watch dogs

It's a great game it just lacks content so gets boring quick.

I think it feels very beta.

It's very boring. The whole returning to ship all the time is tedious. Dinklage is terrible. And i wont even start on the announcer in MP

i don't want this to be taken in the wrong context here but £50 isn't really a big deal but i do have a problem with spending £50 on something that i'll play for less than 48 hours in total and end up be annoyingly bored with it.

I can see this having a shorter life than Titanfall tbh

The initial thing that was drawing me to this was how much content it "seemed" to have, and it would be a real free world roaming game, but all i got from the beta was, fly to destination, complete a linier challenge with boss, leave then repeat.

I like it I just think it's lacking in content and repetitive.

First thoughts.. find it a bit repetitive and every area is looking the same lol, but fun and addictive and quite nice to look at.

Not sure where the £310m went into making it??

I honestly enjoyed Halo more.... kinda wish it had an actual single player campaign mode, could have been epic...

The respawning enemies are annoying. Playing earlier and after defeating some hard enemies we moved to the next wave, only to have the previous spawn in again behind us.

Played all night again tonight. I'd agree that it's very samey, but as others have said it's held together by the decent gameplay.

I'm still enjoying it though. I'm finding that having bounties queued up and alternating between the story missions and Crucible is preventing it from becoming too repetitive for me, and it's left me over levelled as a result also. I've yet to do the last two story missions on the moon and am nearly level 12.

I've not really played as a group yet either; hoping that doing the strikes as a fireteam will be fun.

I think the issue is - for me anyways - is that the vs ai pve combat is not even close to how much fun it was in Halo. Compared to Borderlands and other shooters it's decent - and I've had great fun playing with friends in a fireteam - but why is it so much more basic than what Bungie gave us before? Where are the hordes of different enemy types armed with different weapons charging you down? Where are the vehicles, gun turrents etc? It's like Halo gameplay on a much smaller scale, just in sections in an overall bigger map. I suspect there is more variety to be had playing just the Lost Platoon firefight map in ODST than in the entire Destiny launch content.

So yeah, it's fun, but why does it play like a massively chopped down Halo? And why does it feel so small and empty compared to Halo, despite it actually being bigger?

I think this hits the nail on the head.

I really like playing the game with a mate, but it sort of feels like a "horde" mode on a big environment, with some terrible dialogue to boot.

Overall I quite like the game tho! I hope the end game pve content is good.
