*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

I seriously feel like a fool for buying the digital download...I honestly would like my money back but I know MS wont budge on that issue. My fault tbh, I just wish I didn't jump on the hype train. Would really much preferred to spend my £55 on literally anything else...also another night of not playing it due to the servers constantly kicking me out...sick of seeing error messages like pineapple and chicken. Apart from the pretty graphics literally any low level dev couldve made this game so quite a disappointment from Bungie on this behalf. Just rinse repeat rinse repeat. Apart from going to different locations you may as well just do the first 3 missions of the game because that is all this game is! No variety whatsoever.

I mean I kill a boss and 30 seconds later i'm teleported to my ship. Wheres this huge epic universe that was promised???

Probably after you pay them £34.99 x 10 times over the course of next 3 years.

I played 3 levels so far, got some new armour, a couple of new abilities. will play it until Saturday and then trade it in for The Last of Us.

So I was playing yesterday, I could see other players both at the tower and when on other planets. Yet today nobody...just me? I fancied doing one of the fire team/coop missions on earth yet could not get matched with anyone. I never had this issue with the Beta.

Has anyone else had this issue? If so how did you fix? Seems a lil odd that I am playing an MMO type game yet all by myself..... :(

You kind of knew this game would fail to live up to the hype. IGN recently revealed that they clocked the story in 6 hours. Not that this doesn't include time spent fooling around and levelling up.

I didn't expect this game to even have an ending. I thought the story would be on going for years to come.

Hmm 6 hours...and i can imagine there is repetition in there

Thanks to the OcUK'er that helped me through a level last night :)

Really enjoying this game tbh, unlocked PvP and spent about 2hrs in multiplayer....it's like grown up halo

Finally a game to use the PS4 for, it'll keep me going until GTA and Project Cars come out.

Patrol missions opens up the map on the location - i.e. Earth, Moon...

That's the 'epic' size I suppose. Think that's where people are missing it when doing missions only. And last night was fun doing a patrol when an event happen, shame the other 2 gamers wasn't twigging on shooting the legs of the beetle/bug before shooting it's exposed core when it's down.

So close... I want my bounty!

Edit: And Strike missions are great when you match up with your mates. My bro and I thoroughly enjoyed the Earth's. Can't wait for the Moon strike mission!

I only played the beta, but the social elements seemed minimal and too reliant on your friends list (have they improved in the final game?).

Phantasy Star Online for example, was released nearly 14 Years ago and it had:
  • Persistent, non-instanced lobbies making it easy to find and chat to randoms
  • Ability to create and join rooms via a server/room list. Very easy to just make or just join existing rooms to play with others
  • Text chat including 'Dreamcast Keyboard' support
  • Easily trade items with other players (in Ver1.0 you had to drop items on the ground to trade, but still)
  • An in-game Friends List

The player base for online games was much smaller back then though, so features like these were more affordable and less risky with the use of dedicated servers. I still can't help but feel things have taken a step back, though.

Played a small chunk of the story last night and I really enjoyed it. I was never really a fan of the Halo series but I quite like this. Yes, so far the story missions are a bit too similar but it feels like it has real potential. I'm only a level 4 Warlock so far and found lots of ??? (high level?) monsters when exploring several times and got my ass handed to me, which was funny. INSTADEATH! :D

I never played the beta and never had any expectations of this game, so maybe that's why I'm enjoying it more than some judging from some of the comments here. Or maybe because I paid only £3 for 2 copies of the game I feel I'm getting my money's worth :p

I am really enjoying this personally. Just been over to Venus for the first time and it was awesome. I do wish they gave you the option to stay in game after a mission however. I'll see if I can join up with some of the other OcUK people for a strike over the weekend.
