*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

bounties just refreshed - i only have 4 vanguard bounties though??
anyone else have this?

I have 6 of all types as usual, you sure you don't have old bounties?

I bought Red Death instead of the speeder upgrade, have the Crucible red/blue speeder so probably should have bought the red speeder trail ;D

Red Death is pretty good though. So meh.

I probably would have bought one of the crucible speeders as I preferred the colours but I just didn't have the rep for it. I now need to find something to spend my crucible marks on........

Anyone about to do level 26 weekly heroic on ps4? I have 10 strange coins and desperately want that extra 3 before xur disappears for another week!

I was pretty hyped about this game but since I don't yet own a PS4 I haven't been able to play it.

However I was just on phone to my mate who has had this since release and he is gonna trade it in for Shadow of Mordor. He said its a pain in the arse getting raid groups together. There is no group finding function in the game? is this right?. Seems a massive oversight.

I think I might have fell victim to the hype. Is this game a let down?

Started my Warlock on Thursday night, just got him to level 19. So thankful that I have managed to get my queens wrath armour opportunity before the event finishes.

Cant see me going back to my 26 titan, only annoyance is hes carrying a load of resources so will need to transfer between characters for a while to use up his resources on weapon upgrades for my warlock.

Havent tried voidwalker yet, concentrating on maxing out sunsinger.

Any opinions on this exotic pulse rifle xur has?

Glad I held off from buying the Red Death now, just got an Exotic bounty. Juju time :D

If anyone on XB1 wants to join me for strikes today or tomorrow give me a shout. I need to do Weekly Heroic or Nightfall followed by another 25 strikes. Lucky I enjoy doing them :)

There is no raid finder in the game, this is correct.
It is not that hard to get a raid group together using the official Bungie forums, there are tonnes of people who want to play the raid.

It is not an oversight, it was a carefully calculated design decision. The raid requires an immense amount of teamwork and communication, and is best experienced with a group of regular players.

The game was a let down for many, because the story is an absolute disaster, and the world is not as free-roaming as the devs initially intended. The raid is one of the highlights of the game. The game is VERY grindy though, so if you think you will get bored of doing the same stuff over and over again, probably best to skip it, because the story alone is not worth the retail price.

Helmet, if you don't have a exotic you already like. Red death is a nice pulse rifle if you use them?

Seems like 50/50 on the helmet engram on what class you will get, don't know if I want to take the
chance!

Would like a legendary or exotic primary but dont use pulse rifles.

Juju is pretty much the weakest exotic weapon in the game right now FYI, it's probably worse than most legendaries too.

Good news is that it will be getting buffed at some point, but not sure when.

This one won't cost me a load of coins though :D. I was quite close to buying Red Death yesterday but decided against.

I'm not expecting to use it a lot. If it turns out to be useless even after the buff I'll dismantle it. Win win :)

Yep 189 page thread, it's clearly a let down.

Battlefield 4 has countless pages too but it doesn't mean that game isn't without flaws.

Considering people are saying the game is very grindy and that raids are the highlight, it seems a shame you need to go onto forums to organise a game every time. You don't need to do that on MMOs.

Anyway I told my mate to maybe keep destiny and see if it comes good for him, however his reply was "Nah Im burned out on it and the story is crap as well"

I still look forward to trying it myself however when I buy a ps4 in the near future.

This isn't an MMO.

It's not Halo either.

Once you accept this and move on its a good game. But the internets criticism of this game comes from Halo players who play the crucible and can't understand why they don't get all the best stuff for coming first, and from MMO players who can't understand how small it is and why everybody expects to have guaranteed legendary gear and isn't prepared to grind for 6 months just to get 2 legendary items

For PvP - yes
For PvE - no

the special abilities on it are OP for PvP, but useless in PvE.
(when assault rifles get nerfed, it will be one of the strongest weapons in the game for PvP probably)

if you have no other legendary primary weapon however, then it is probably worth picking it up for PvE for the atk rating alone. the stats on it are good, has good accuracy and clip size etc. just you don't really benefit from the special perks on it at all in PvE.

Thanks, I will probably not bother with it then! For PVE stuff I switch between my suros regime which I bought last week, shadow price and a scout rifle when I want range. Still need a decent legendary sniper rifle that doesn't look like crap, the queen ones are hideous haha.

Do you play on Xbox or PS4?

seeing as you're just not getting it:

p.s. the dungeon/raid finder feature totally killed WoW for me. sure you get a group quicker, but you're playing with nobodies from random servers who don't talk at all and just rush for the loot, also they ninja EVERYTHING. Gone are the days of recruiting for dungeons/raids from within your server, where you could build up a decent friend list of players you enjoyed playing with and where reputation actually meant something. Also, the random PvP encounters with opposite faction whilst trying to enter dungeons/raids made things interesting ^_^ now you just get insta-teleported into the instance from a capital city and GG zzz

I'm on PS4 (see sig :p)
I don't have any decent sniper rifles either! Haven't got one legendary one since launch. However, I have a legendary fusion rifle which I absolutely LOVE, so it's not really an issue for me :p

I have Suros too, it's pretty broken at the moment but when the auto rifle nerfs kick in then other weapons will start to look a bit more attractive, especially at range.

vs any super, you are supposed to stay spread out. Warlock / Titan are practically the same in that aspect. Hunter is the OP one, and spreading out won't do **** to counter their supers. Supers have a REALLY long cooldown in PvP, so unless you are getting absolutely smashed then they won't be able to use it more than 1-2 times per match.

Heavy ammo is about map knowledge and control. As soon as you hear the announcer, get your ass to the spawn point and capture the heavy ammo for youself, instead of complaining about dying to people using it.

Secondary weapons are balanced fine imo. Shotguns are useless at range (except a few legendary/exotics - and shotgun range is getting nerfed soon so that will fix that). If you are dying to shotgun users a lot, stop running around like a headless chicken and check your radar, keep them at range and you will annihilate them. Fusion rifles are useless vs a target which is moving sideways or jumping. They are strong down corridors but that's about it. Chuck in a grenade and GG. Snipers are pretty much useless except on the 2 big maps, but hey sniper headshot = 1 hit kill, same as any FPS, no problems here.

Auto rifles are getting a range / accuracy at range nerf in the near future.

Rest of the guns are fairly well balanced.

??

Sorry but that's a load of BS.

1) How are you supposed to 'stay spread out' when capping an area barely bigger than a pizza?

2) Supers have a long cool down for each individual player, but because every enemy player has one you can be hit with one after the other constantly. And besides, the main problem with them is that they just feel unfair when you die from them no matter how often you get hit with them. It's just not good game design to have something in the game it's virtually impossible to counter.

3) Same goes for heavy ammo. It's not always possible to get to the spawn points first, so you inevitably will have to eat **** at some point when you run into someone with a rocket.
