*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

I'm in the exact same situation - difference is I put in the herculean effort of adding like minded people off this forum. Sorry but you've got no excuse...

Hey guys, is anyone else using the "Hammer Forged" weapon perk? It's the one that gives increased accuracy and range. I am using it on pretty much every single weapon I can get it on at the moment, because it seems really, really strong for all game modes..!

I think they need to nerf it on shotguns to be honest, if you see someone in crucible going on crazy killing sprees with a shotgun, I can pretty much guarantee it is because they are running this perk..!

WoW is the most casual MMO on the market, ever since Wrath of the Lich King everything became a skill-less AoE-fest.

Going casual "killed" WoW for many players (myself included).

I'm glad that the raid in Destiny is strategically difficult and requires teamwork and communication to complete. I hope it stays that way and they don't add a Raid Finder tool because that would mean they would have to lower the difficulty of the raid.

Bungie stated many times during pre-release that they were not expecting everyone to be able to clear the raid in Destiny, and that they were ok with that.

The thing is... the first 2/3 of it don't. You won't be able to learn it effectively without communication (and/or a guide) but get 6 people together who know the fight they will almost certainly breeze through until after the jumping puzzle.

I must be missing it. I've got shed loads of every other material just in passing. Sods law says the one thing I need seems to be rare as hen's teeth!

Just do a patrol on mars and head to scablands. Lots of loot chests there with iron in. There is a youtube guide to it.

The Templar boss took us 20+ wipes to do on the 1st attempt because we went in (relatively) blind. If you have done it before and know the strategy, sure, it is easy. But the fight is very complex for anyone trying it for the 1st time without any knowledge of the encounter (how it should be experienced imo - what's the point in ruining the challenge by watching a video of a pro team doing the strat perfectly??)

Now imagine doing it with 5 other random players, who you have no connection to whatsoever, and no idea whether anyone knows the strategy or not.

It would be pure hell. Any time there is a wipe, 50% of the group leaves in my MMO experience when playing with random players instead of a guild / clan where you can't just up and leave whenever you feel like it without consequences.

I really, really despise raid finder features in MMO's, they remove a lot of the "community" spirit of the game.

I'd much rather play with people I have some kind of connection with than randomers who are likely to screw you over because they know you will never see them again.

I really hope they put matchmaking in more game modes... I am already fedup with the game because of the lack of content and its only been out for over 2 weeks.

hey guys...been trying to get on the OCUK clan but im not sure if im on or not lol. It says the ps4 clan is full ? anyways just wouldnt mind some strikes/nightfall/raid groups. Hope you guys dont mind but ill add some people to the network if tht ok if the clan wont work for me :)

wasn't slightly annoyed with this game until this week, completed the raid twice with my clan and its dropped me 3 raid weapons and a bunch of ascendant energy. oh well here is to the weekly reset and hoping i can get atleast 1 piece of raid armour next week, then maybe i can be carried through at the harder difficulty at lvl 29 and rewarded better

why annoying? 1 of my guys ran straight through 1st time and got 3 pieces of raid armour - boom lvl 30

damn that sucks.

tbh, I haven't seen a single piece of raid armor drop for ANY of our group, and we've cleared it 2-3 times now.

I think they need to increase the drop rates of the raid armor, cos this is kinda lame.

I've been thinking, current raid is level 26, hard is level 30. In the next DLC the raid will be Level 28(confirmed) and hard must be 32.

Must be new raid stuff in the dlc to upgrade? i see not point in worrying about raid gear for level 30 when you can do the next raid level 28 for level 32 stuff?

Have i got it wrong?

Well I guess I hit a nerve - must have been correct then ;). Still can't fathom how people can't realise if they can't be arsed to organise themselves then only their fault they are missing out...

Hell I anticipated it and made a MP thread early to get people to exchange details and then a raid thread to attempt to get people to make up groups. Yet there's some who just CBA but happy to moan that such content is unavailable to them .

No doubt there are justifiable reasons you can't - but I doubt they are common...

I'm confused isn't the topic for debate raid matchmaking or getting your character ready for raiding? Because I'm talking about the first which doesn't need much more than a bit of effort trying to get 6 people together once a week. I'm sure that wouldn't stop anyone career advancement to dedicate :p

So what's the difference between getting randoms off here to randoms from an auto generated system? It doesn't prevent you from grouping up with your mates, just enables more people to play the content.

Just makes you sound very elitist. Whether you are or not doesn't really change the point, if it opens the game up to more people it's very likely to happen.

I prefer working out the levels myself than be boosted through content, so I look forward to joining the socially awkward randomly generated groups in the future ;)

At least you get the satisfaction of knowing you don't have to play with noobs like me :p

It's the same for all mmo's. You will get some that max out the raid gear and some that will skip it for the next. Unless their is some sort of bonus for collecting the entire gear set?

It will just be easier at being L30 than L28.

indeed
u got a link for the info that raid in next dlc is confirmed to be lvl 28 btw?

I'm Level 29 now, no point me worrying about raid gear. Just save up and get level 28 raid stuff once available.

i was just thinking ahead and planning, may just collect all exotic armour. Allows me to play using different game styles.

Based on the video released showing all unlocked areas in destiny.

This just in: PvP in Destiny is a humiliating evil nightmare. There is never not someone behind me, aiming a massive gun at my head.

Also, reputation grinding is doing my head in. I finally have enough vanguard marks to buy a legendary piece of (non-helmet) armour, but I'm still nearly 700 vanguard rep away from having the required reputation.

Why do I keep playing this game? Why?

LOL just amazed how a bit of self-organisation is met with so much resistance. Im sure people have got frustrated with randoms that are matchmade in strikes (especially the playlist) so why wouldnt such concerns present themselves in the raid? I would have thought the people off here at least wouldnt leave you in the lurch mid-raid or would at least be able to confirm how long they can stay before they decide to call it a night...

It does escape me how this is a big ask
