*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

If the game was content rich we wouldn't be having this discussion imo. You might not mind adding random people to psn and jumping on cons with them etc, I don't want to. I like to play these games with real life friends and family. Needing 6 for the raid makes this difficult. They could release a raid needing less people, that could help. I can't be alone in not wanting to find randoms on a forum to play with. Adding two in to my group of 4 would at least mean we possibly stood a chance.

Yeah, but a strike and the raids feel very different, you have to think in the raids and you get raid drops also. You deploy ghost and kill wave in the strikes.

Finally got a legendary auto rifle, the Grim Citizen 3. Passed about 20 engrams to my titan from my warlock, a mix of legend and rare and surprisingly got some decent stuff incl. a few shards/coins/motes. Now have 20 Shards, 21 Coins, 21 Energy and 32 Motes. Just need more legendary armour for warlock now who only has legend robe and exotic gauntlets.

It's been quite good fun but I think I've hit the end of my time with Destiny. I've done a few of the exotic bounties already but just got to two with parts that are stinkers (kills in PvP with void damage and kill 200 enemies with fusion rifles in the nightfall strike).

I started on them and got bored/frustrated after 2 hours of relatively little progress so did a strike but after having to do 25 for a previous bounty I realised I knew the enemy spawns better than they did.

I'd hit a similar point a few times but this time I hit eject and stuck in Forza Horizon and instantly remembered that I play games for fun and that somewhere along the way I had developed an odd addiction to Destiny but wasn't enjoying it all that much.

There's a decent enough game here but if it weren't so pretty I think I'd have dumped it a long time ago!

LOL just amazed how a bit of self-organisation is met with so much resistance. Im sure people have got frustrated with randoms that are matchmade in strikes (especially the playlist) so why wouldnt such concerns present themselves in the raid? I would have thought the people off here at least wouldnt leave you in the lurch mid-raid or would at least be able to confirm how long they can stay before they decide to call it a night...

It does escape me how this is a big ask

ps3ud0

Please do quote me if I said it was a big task gathering a group, just saying it would be easier for the likes of me mainly because I don't plan my week around the game.

I never said there wouldn't be issues with randoms either, I'm sure I said it would be harder and I quite liked that some times.

It's all part of the fun jumping on with randoms and meeting new people. I met some of my closest gaming friends by playing with randoms. Maybe I have different priorities to you but I get more out of having a good laugh than worrying about completing it. But there have still been plenty of 4am...one more try...times :D

Anyway let's agree to disagree.

don't worry too much about the exotic weapon bounties. i am currently using 0 of the exotic weapons i got from those, they are all pretty whack at the moment. legendary weapons get a) same amount of atk when fully upgraded and b) are MUCH faster to level up, so you are fine without an exotic weapon.

strikes do get pretty boring after a while. I've more or less stopped playing them now, but that's only because I'm bored of the long ass boss fights, and the devs have already confirmed there is a bug reducing the amount of dmg you deal to bosses in strikes, so I am waiting for Bungie to fix that personally.

if you haven't exerienced the raid yet, try and get in a group for that, because it's a whole different ball game. very complex boss battles.

you also have the crucible on offer.

still - gotta agree - there is a serious lack of content in this game. i feel like i've run through everything more than enough times now, starting to get pretty bored of what is on offer (raid is still fun though).

new content due in dec. not sure if it will be worth the price tag or not though..

So they should design raids for all different number of players just because you can't find 5 people to play with?

To be fair most mmo's do. Wow did, dcuo did it as an example. It's about reaching a wider audience...more money for them. Whether that's right or wrong it till happens.

I bet in a few months they will start selling gear or even worse the dreaded replay tokens to repeat raids :p

Personally im in agreement with you mate, if the Raids are opened up to pugs it has ZERO impact on people running premade groups, and simply has the possibility of attracting more people to the content.

WOW had the same resistance when the dungeon finder/lfr was introduced but the amount of new people who now get to see the content (albeit in tourist mode) is of a huge benefit to the game.

I always find it hilarious when people moan about pugs when they dont have to use the feature, its simply adding more options to the game in the effort of attracting more people to the different ways of playing.

If LFD/LFR have taught us anything from wow its that if the experience is horrible enough then it will actually convince people to try grouping up in other ways :)

And on a side note i dont think ive seen a strike fail once with randoms altho i may be a bit biased as im normally running with Solost and were adding 1 random to the group so we can still finish if one dropped out which i dont recall happening

It's interesting reading this thread and people feeling so passionately about the idea of matchmakin. As if ssomehow finding a random person on a forum is massively different to finding someone in game.

As someone said. If it's implemented you aren't forced to use it. But those that do may have a system that suits their style.

No harm done?

Finding a random 5 other people on a forum.. I have to be there at the agreed time or hope people are about and willing to do that raid when I'm free.. (Hell I might agree to turn up at 8pm and then feel I cba)

In game match making 2am on a Tuesday morning I'm getting thrown in with 5 other people who are actively trying to play said raid..

It's very different tbh.

No I'm just advising you to read the arguments, no need to get tetchy.

Stampeding in and saying "IT'LL ALL BE FINE BECAUSE I SAY IT IS" is not how you make an argument.

And how do the save mechanics translate?

I don't know, I'm not paid to work out the mechanics of their game. I do have the disposable income to buy their games though, and I would like them to think of some system to make that part of their game more accessible to me.

They will likely of put thought into it. Just like Blizzard did with WoW.

I'm not getting tetchy, I'm just commenting on your last few posts here. You disagree with peoples opinions then try to belittle them.

Anyway. You say earlier about communication and how you imagine a random pick up group with 6 people would be hell. People being stupid as you say.

Why can't people communicate with random people? I played games where I've dove in with unknown people and communicated just fine. I play dota which is the most unforgiving and infuriating game I've ever played. However I've spoke on mic to complete unknowns and had positive results.

It's almost like you feel superior by spending time arranging something on a forum. You will sstill have your group of elitist friends to play with when the casual folk are using matchmaking. You can be smug when they crash and burn.
