Anyone game for finishing off the raid tonight before the reset? I've got the checkpoint for Atheon!

I'm open to suggestions around times, but I'm thinking around 7 PM / 8 PM to kick it off. I roughly know what I'm doing!

How long do you think it might take? I have the raid to finish off with a group of friends I play with (it's our first attempt) and we're starting at 9:30. Level 28 Titan here, have striker and defender maxed so whatever the group needs really.

I pretty much do PvP now, only level 24. I play with my brother who is only level 11 or something but other than that I get bored unless I'm in PvP and that just feels so pointless.

lol, you're having a laugh now, This game is Very content weak. Once you hit level 26+ you have the raid or pvp to keep you going, the rest is the same **** over and over.

They could easily lower the difficulty for match making and give the option of the harder challenge for those groups who want it, hell could even give them better drops or drops only accessed when played like that.. I honestly couldn't give a **** about the gear. It's the content I feel I'm missing out on.

To be honest, the raid isn't much different from any other level. Okay its harder and has a bit more variety, but its the playing with other people that makes it good. Having a laugh with gord and shami last week was definitely the most fun ive had with the game, but i dont think ive ever had that with randoms. The people who do have mic's either have music on in the background, dont talk, or are so annoying you wish they didnt talk. For a 5 minute deathmatch random people are okay because after 5 minutes they're gone. But to do a 2-4 hour raid with that kind of people.... well it just isnt going to be fun.

I met one randomer and did a strike with him and he seemed fine.

He then joined me another day for the weekly and zoomee also popped on to do it. Anyway we were at the end boss (tank) and I died and zoomee came over to revive me n died too. The guy that seemed ok just kept running up and down at the top of the map dancing occasionally and shooting in the air. WTF

Zoomee left after abit and so did I, he ask me to team up later and got ignored.

Anyway my point is you don't want stuff like that in a raid situation, be it someone being a tool or just not turning up etc.
Saying that I do think they should add the option with a warning to cover their backs stating its unlikely that the raid can be done with randomers.

They should allow vote kicks and drop ins for raids.

Before that they need to allow drop-ins for strikes... or rather, fix it so it actually bloody works.

I had to do the 25 strikes for Bad Juju last week so did it pretty much entirely on the Strike Playlist Tiger. Aside from all the ones where we seemed to have a player who never joined us for the first couple of minutes (so I left, hell if I'm completing it for leecher), I had a couple where someone quit right at the start.
I've taken to just quitting myself if that happens because the spot is almost never filled. Twice it happened on the Phogoth Strike (I stuck around because it was a nice change from getting Flayers/Ta'aurc every damn time) and the spot was never filled the entire strike. There is no shortage of solo players entering strikes so fix your damn matchmaking for joining in progress.

Speaking of the Strike 'Playlist'. Getting Valus Ta'aurc almost 50% of the time over 4 days is not a playlist.

What confuses me most is how you see the people with forum personas are by default better people to play with. That I don't understand. The chances of being stuck with some muppet aren't much different. You could easily befriend someone from a matchmaking game and play together in future.

That is because we are better to play with than some matchmaking randomer. You need to separate a persons skill (KDR, weapon unlocks, armour unlocks etc.) and their co-operativeness (planning a mission before it starts, playing a team game rather than lone wolf etc.). The skill is random, doesn't matter if you add a random from matchmaking or add a random name from here, where a forumite has the advantage is you can almost guarantee that the forumite is going to be more of co-operative than a random. I am not saying a matchmaking random wont be co-operative, there will be some that are but it is going to be a much lower figure than forumites who are.

Well since I've got the checkpoint for Atheon, I don't think it'll take /that/ long to complete. Maybe an hour, maybe 2 depending how much we struggle. I'm personally not running through the whole raid again until Tuesday!

I'm ok with them allowing matchmaking for raids as long as they don't pander to people asking for them to be easier, so if a bunch of randoms find it hard to do a raid because they aren't communicating or someone's is being an idiot then so be it.

One thing I would like to see is something that shows which strike is going to be next on the Strike playlists giving you the opportunity to cancel. It annoys me that when you finish a strike it then loads the same one which you don't find out until it's loading and then it's too late to cancel. I don't mind repeating strikes, just not twice in a row.

I never play strike playlist for the reasons mentioned already. No point when it just gives you the same things each time.

I now just to daily events, daily story missions (since they added rewards for doing lvl 28) and the Raid. At this point, there seems to be no real reason to do any other part of the game.
All I need is materials and I'd rather play the Raid 10x than do 50 strikes.

Can't wait for the next Raid though as the first time is always fun trying to work out what's going on!!

If anyone is around now on PS4 and fancies trying the weekly nightfall strike let me know. Wouldn't mind one final crack before the weekly reset tomorrow.

The rewards are rather pointless.

I mean, on the level 24 Playlist, the reward most of the time is a rare engram (or a straight up rare which is even less useful). Aside from the tiny chance of it being a material or a legendary, at level 24 you have absolutely no use what-so-ever for rares. You are already at the point where you'll be needing legendaries to fill slots.

Only thing I want from strikes are engrams. You get the chance at a legendary/material and the you power level your Cryptarch rank so the rank-up rewards also have a chance of giving you a legendary. Sheer quantity of junk items you get that are already ID'd is awkward.

Surprised by the negativity towards PUG's for the raid/weekly strike, can't say I understand why it would need to be dumbed down either? I'd love to do the raid, and theoretically I'm at a level where I could attempt it. Do I know 5 others who play early mornings though? No chance. A random group matchmaking system would be perfect for me.

So you who haven't done the raid can't understand why it would need to be dumbed down... :p

Err, no, I don't? I wouldn't want to do a dumbed down version of the raid. I couldn't care less if I died a thousand times doing it, it's not like I lose anything?

I think they should keep the raids as tough as they are, but just add matchmaking so that you can find people to play with instantly. There's no harm in that because it wouldn't be dumbed down and if you like playing with 5 mates, you still can. It's no difference to you.

Yes, there's always the chance you would end up with idiots on your team, but you can still have a go, and I don't care what anyone says, it can be a massive PITA to get 6 people together without matchmaking -- what if you don't have any mates with PS4s? What if Destiny is your first PS4 experience and you haven't made any PUG friends yet? What if you post on here and no one is up for the raid? The logistics of DIY matchmaking is too much sometimes. The only reason I can think why anyone would actually object to matchmaking is elitism -- i.e., they like being one of the (relatively) few who have done the raid and got the gear and matchmaking would make it so more people could complete it too.

I guess it's because I cba adding people like you to my PSN friends list these days. Getting 6 friends together who all

A) Own the game
B) Have had time to gear up to the correct level

Is pretty hard, Most have work and Children to look after. So yeah I'd like a match making option so when I find myself alone on psn I can still have a crack, if that means it gets easier I couldn't give a ****. Have a option to make it harder for those who like the challenge.

But calling people in my situation as you did, yeah it hits a nerve and isn't really called for.

If you think that's hard just try organizing 6 people to cover 3 confluxes in the vault of glass.

You simply cannot do this with randoms. And that's before we get onto Atheon and organizing that 3 people have to ensure they are always in front of the other 3 people at the correct time so the 3 people that are responsible for the past worlds, keep doing it and get a rthymn going.

I've tried this with friends from OcUK and its hard enough with voice comms. There is simply NO way you would ever complete vault of glass without first having everybody in comms. And if you open up match making then theres a high chance you will get people join you who won't use comms and then it all falls apart.
