You need rank 2 for the class item
Maybe I just had a bad night but I played Iron Banner for a few hours tonight and I'm seriously considering not going back into it, I normally do fairly well in the Crucible but for whatever reason in the Iron Banner I just get melted within a second. Level 28 Titan with 1300 defense I would've thought could hold his own but apparently I was wrong, very very frustrating night -_-
I don't think the armour effects have that big an effect myself. I was up against a lvl 9 and he was holding his own, then on same match I was owning lvl 28's. You would have thought this guy would be complete cannon fodder. I also seem to be mostly the same finishing place and score as normal.
It just gives me and excuse when someone higher lvl beats me (26 hunter) lol

Playing iron banner a bit yesterday and there was a level 2/3 in there (can't remember which) but he was like third from the third or fourth from the top, I didn't think you could enter crucible that low but the iron banner might be different I guess.
I got to rank one, saw rank two was 1200 reputation and stopped, seems stupid to have it that high when rank one was only 100 reputation to get.

sorry if already covered, what did yesterday's patch do?
It seemed ok in the 1 match I have played so far. I am not a massive PvP player but it seemed fun and I was able to get some kills (plus plenty of assists) despite being a relatively low level (9 at the time of playing) and not knowing the map layout at all. I didn't come bottom of my team either which was a plus!
I am really enjoying Destiny at the moment. Even the grind for materials and enemy spawns aren't really bothering me. No doubt it will get a bit tiresome once I am a much higher rank but for now it is fine. I don't play in massively long stints though so that probably helps.
Er, doesn't it require the class item too?

Got booted from the Nightfall 3 times last night so it seems to be working...
i cant believe people still play this i had it for a grand total of 2 days and sold it right away.It has got to be the most boring game of all time included into that the longest load screen as well when you choose a mission to go on..which appears to be the same planet AGAIN !!! YAWN
There isn't a game out there where everyone loves it without a whine.
It's not your type of game, whilst many including me are enjoying it since day 1. As for the same planet comment, you've not played it long enough to see how it opens up and by level 18, there's even more things 'to do'.
It's an FPS with MMORPG elements. It's not going to be like Skyrim and the story is not like Mass Effect, and even for people who likes to find the bigger stick, this isn't quite like it. It's essentially a jack of all these elements but a master of none.
